Does anyone know when the update comes out for this phone? If this phone does not receive an update on KitKat definitely never going to take LG phones. LG phones are good, but support is disastrous bad!

But its the same with other competitors, dont forgot that this device a mid range phone, not a flagship device. If you look around but within this category, you will find that other manufacturers are doing the same thing. Only flagship devices will receive 2+ android updates. Also its been discussed about that this (any some others) phone will receive 4.4 kitkat update, skipping any 4.2 or 4.3 updates completely. You can find more info at google (cant post links here). We are also waiting for a knock-on feature update, which will hopefully come very soon.

Dear LG,
I bought this phone (LG Optimus L9 II - D605) quite recently and I am un-pleasantly surprised that NO updates to the Android OS (v4.1.2) are, at least as of yet, made available! And that's leaving aside the getting-established fact that almost NONE of your products, being them Tablets or Phones (Smartphones - Android) EVER get any updates. I suppose that -by now- you already started to realise that THIS creates a "Bad Image/Reputation" for your Smartphones/Tablets. Which is very pitty, since your products seem to be of good quality and specs. Having said that, I consider it to be in the best public interest to warn everyone that I know (through other sites, forums, media and the press) that once someone buys such a product from LG, he/she is pretty much "doomed" to never expect any firmware updates (especially updates to the Android OS) from you LG. Just look around and take a look at your main competitors (Samsung, Sony, Nokia, etc). They DO offer such updates and quite regularly... For example, Sony SP (which is older than LG L9 II)will get an Android 4.4 (Kit Kat) upgrade, which is ALREADY planned & announced...
So, my main point is that it is neither "right" nor "fair" to be throwing such products to the Market and then totally forget about them (and I'm not talking about your very good after-sales support). Finally, unless you do something about that, personally I will NOT buy another smartphone or tablet from you (for the reasons I mentioned and explained above).
