Hi All,

I have suddenly faced a problem....

My Home button has stopped working and the screen doesnt get locked at all....

Any solution for this?

                  So, we'll start by rooting your device. The application "gingerbreak" will do the trick. Download ithttp://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=578771&d=1303829207 . Follow the instructions: make sure that USB Debugging is selected in Settings/Applications/Development.

                  Your device should now be rooted: that's great! You can use Titanium Backup to backup some settings and even applications. It's useful but not necessary. You can always go back to your current phone's firmware by using KDZ, it is really simple and I'm sure someone will tell you how to get the correct firmware and flash it if you need it. You can, however, have some problems using this tool, so I don't recommend messing around with it if you don't know what you are doing. (As an example, my phone would only boot in Emergency Mode, I couldn't even access the recovery! I fixed it but I got a little scared.)

                  You should also sync your contacts, I save them on my Google Account so it's easier. It's not the default option on this phone though, so you should find a way to export your contacts if you didn't save them as Google contacts.

                  Now, you should open up the market and search for "rom manager". You will have to install Clockworkmod Rom Manager, it will be used to install a custom recovery on your phone. Open up the application and select the first option, it should be "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery".

                  Next, you will need to download two .zip packages to place them on the SD card of your phone. One is the ROM itself, download it http://www.multiupload.com/MXQIDGAWQE. The other are the Google apps, you'll need those to have the market on your phone. Download http://www.mediafire.com/?j80xkzrgdd6pjxb . (Both of these are from the link you posted.)

                  Ok, so turn off your device and reboot in the recovery mode. Do so by holding the home button, the lower volume button and the button you usually press to boot your phone. There is also a button in ROM Manager to do so.

                  In the recovery, you can navigate the menus using the volume buttons, the menu button and the back button. Start by selecting "backup and restore" and then "backup".

                  When it's done, you should "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition", and then in "advanced" you should "clear the dalvik cache".

                  Select "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard" and find the ROM you downloaded. When it's done, you should reboot your phone normally. There it is, gingerbread!

                  It's not done though. Reboot in recovery again. Go in "advanced" and select something like "fix package permissions". Then, select the "install zip from sdcard" and "choose zip from sdcard" option again. Find the gapps you downloaded (it stands for Google Apps).

                  There you go, everything is ready to be configured again

                  Enjoy Gingerbread, don't be afraid to ask questions if you get stuck!

                    what does rooting do? does it really enhance the performance of the phone or just alters the settings of the phone which are set by the company for "optimum" use of the phone which secures the phone from any harm?

As far as sending music file through Bluetooth,You install Bluetooth manager and then send it will definitely work.

                        What are you taking about? You Dont know how to use an android then.
                        You can transfer files through Bluetooth.
                        just long touch the file in "OI File Manager" you want to send, A list will pop up saying "Send, Move, Copy etc." Press on Send then Bluetooth(Make sure your Bluetooth is ON)

                          3.All the applications that claim to save your battery nothing but crap...You can do all that yourself...Just turn off bluetooth,wifi,3g data n decrease the brightness to optimum levels...This is what even those applications do..But why waste resources on some apps when you can do it yourself?And DONT USE A TASK KILLER EVER...And the FACEBOOK app is THE APP that hogs the battery in everybodies phone...So i would recommend to access facebook using some other alternate apps or directly use the facebook mobile site...The facebook app is the worstly coded app on the whole android market

                            I bought this phone a month ago and now today , it sudently stop working and kept turning on and off and it showed the android title when you open it but not the telus title ... this is really wierd i kept my phone in really good care i never droped it . can someone help me Please

                              My experience with the phone browsing is disappointing and frustrating. Attimes when it connects the speed is very slow. The phone cannot transfer music files via bluetooth when non android lg phones easily transfer such files. This is a great minus on the part of the p500.

                                        ramk, 12 Aug 2011hihappy p500 users... i would like to upgrade my memory car... moreJust copy the entire data in your current memory card to the new 8 GB memory card and replace the memory card. That works. I did it 3 months back and all the apps are working fine for me. And yes 8 GB card won't slow your device unless you have more apps installed.
