1080p (1080 x 1920) screens have 2x pixels of 720p (720 x 1280). 2160p has 4x pixels of 1080p (8x pixels of 720p). More pixels to refresh means more processing power used means shorter battery life.

I don't think you get how displays work. A 7 inch 720p display is going to use less power than a 5 inch 1080p display. (Well if the other factors are consistent too)
