LG selling Velvet 2 Pro, Rollable phone to employees in South Korea

Michail, 17 May 2021

As LG exited the smartphone business, consumers never got to see the brand’s Velvet 2 Pro and LG Rollable phones. Yet a limited number of the phones were made and now tipster @FrontTron is reporting that LG employees in South Korea have the exclusive opportunity to purchase either of the unreleased devices.

The pricing and unit quantity details on the LG Rollable are not revealed but there’s solid info on the Velvet 2 Pro. According to the leak, LG is offering approximately 3000 units to its employees at $170 per device. Employees are allowed to buy no more than two units with resale strictly prohibited. The devices will be eligible for 6 month hardware warranty or while parts last and will understandably not receive any software updates.

The Velvet 2 Pro is available in Black, Bronze, Ivory colors and we get a close look at the back of the Ivory white model. The design is quite similar to the first-gen Velvet with a triple camera setup though the lenses seem to protrude a tad more on this version. The phone is also said to feature pressure sensitive volume and power buttons.
