Th kitkat software had issues with wifi connections just wait for Lollipop or download a ROM the fix that bug

My LG tribute that I got a week ago for christmas from my parents won't connect to wifi. It will connect to xfinity wifi for 2secs then disconnect Why is tht? is there something I am doing wrong? Something tht I need to do to tell it to connect to my home wifi?
