LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will receive Android Wear 2.0 in early May

Vlad, 10 April 2017

LG finally started rolling out the update to Android Wear 2.0 for its smartwatches last week. The first two models to receive the coveted software update are the G Watch R and the original Watch Urbane. The updates for these are out already.

On the other hand, if you own an LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition, you'll have to be patient some more. For unknown reasons, the Korean company has announced that Android Wear 2.0 will only make it to the 2nd-gen Urbane in early May. That means you're looking at most at another month of waiting for the update.

It's clearly not ideal, but at least there's a timeline to speak of now, instead of the deafening silence we've had on the matter until this point. LG notes that of the three aforementioned devices, only the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will have support for Android Pay after the Android Wear 2.0 update, since it's the only model with built-in NFC.
