MediaTek Dimensity 2000 to be built on the 4nm node and use ARM V9 architecture

Ro, 07 September 2021

Rumors about MediaTek already working on 4nm mobile chips aren't new and some even believe that the vendor will be the first one to release a SoC based on the 4nm node. The rumors are further confirmed by two notable Weibo tipsters.

MedaiTek Dimensity 2000 to be built on the 4nm node and use ARM V9 architecture

They believe that the upcoming Dimensity 2000 chipset will be based on TSMC's 4nm manufacturing process and that MediaTek has already handed out some samples to its hardware partners for internal testing. If all goes well, we should see the first Dimensity 2000-powered handsets hit the market early next year.

Additionally, the company's flagship SoC will employ the new ARM V9 architecture as well as the new Cortex-X2 core for some serious number-crunching. One would assume that the performance of the Dimensity 2000 wouldn't be much different from Qualcomm's top-tier SoC for 2022.
