MediaTek Dimensity 7000 to be based on the 5nm node
MediaTek announced its flagship SoC, the Dimensity 9000, just a couple of days ago and now we have the first rumor about its supposed upper mid-range offering for 2022 - the Dimensity 7000. The information comes from a reputable Chinese tipster on Weibo.
The rumor suggests that MediaTek's upcoming Dimensity 7000 chipset has entered the testing phase and is built on TSMC's 5nm manufacturing process and uses ARM's new V9 architecture, also implemented in the Dimensity 9000.
It's still early to talk about clock speeds and CPU configurations but the so-called Digital Chat Station says the SoC's support for fast charging will comfortably slot in between the Snapdragon 870 and the Snapdragon 888 at about 75W. Sounds quite promising for a non-flagship chip, that's for sure.

yes, the 9000 does, MTK made that clear, but I doubt that you'll see one in a phone under 30K INR. the 7000 is close as well. MTK's naming scheme is weird though; like why did they go straight from Dim 1100 & 1200 to Dim 7000 & 9000...

I'm guessing that it's to do with TSMC not having enough capacity for Google and Qualcomm. Exyno (not a typo, Exynos sucks) will use Samsung bc they're the from the same company.
