Mediatek will unveil Dimensity 9200+ on May 10

Mediatek will introduce its new flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9200+ on May 10, the company revealed today.

The new platform is likely a small upgrade over the regular 9200. Mediatek already did something similar with the Dimensity 9000 and 9000+ - the mightiest CPU core and the GPU got a minor increase in frequency while architecture, memory, and process technology all remained the same.

If that is indeed the case, the Dimensity 9200+ will be built on the 4nm FinFET process and the CPU will one Cortex-X3 unit, three Cortex-A715 cores and and four Cortex-A510 cores. The GPU should remain Immortalis-G715 MC11.

Realme is also having an event on May 10, and it is a possibility that the company will tease a flagship smartphone with the upcoming Dimensity 9200+. Another company that is rumored to be working on devices with the Mediatek platform is vivo, and rumors suggested at least three phones will get it - X90S Pro, iQOO Neo8 Pro, and iQOO 11S.

Not offering what? AV1 support start with 8 Gen 2 when it exists since 4 generation on Mediatek's Mali GPU is only 10% behind in most tests! And 30% ahead in term of ray-tracing
