Meizu 16X passes by TENAA with Snapdragon 710

Meizu 16 was unveiled last month along with a Meizu 16 Plus, but the company CEO promised a more affordable device with Snapdragon 710 that will be called Meizu 16X. The phone now appeared with a model number M872Q at TENAA, revealing its front and back, along with all the specs.

Since the Meizu 16 Plus was initially called M892Q and the vanilla Meizu 16 was M882Q, it is pretty safe to consider this phone as the Meizu 16X. We are also sure this is the Qualcomm platform since only the 710 has cores that clock up to 2.2 GHz.

Meizu is one of the last mohicans to stay away from the notch and it appears the new phone will keep its bezels straight. The 6” AMOLED display will come with Full HD+ resolution.

The SoC will have 6 GB RAM to keep it company, while storage is listed only as 64 GB. There is no word on microSD slot - it would be really disappointing if Meizu has decided to skip it. There is a dual camera setup on the back with 20 MP + 12 MP combo, while the selfie snapper is 20 MP.

Unsurprisingly, the Meizu 16X will have Android Oreo. The body has dimensions of 151.2 x 73.6 x 7.5 mm and will house a 3,000 mAh battery. The weight of the device is 154 grams. Colors are roughly translated as Matte Black, Ceramic White, and Frosted Gold, but pricing and availability are expected to be unveiled at an official event sometime in September.
