I think IP54 is fine for the rain but not for the bath.

For example my P40 has IP53 certification, I was using it under heavy rain very often and without umbrella, I never had any kind of issue with it.

Tuck the phone in your pocket and stay away from the rain. 10 years ago there were less ingress protection on smartphones. But we still used them. No water damages. Meizu is offering splash resistant. That’s the rainy bits protection that gets you from here to there, in and out. No one uses their phone under a heavy downpour, not even the wealthiest person on earth. If you want to know what water does to an IP68 phone, try swimming in the pool with it. You are not guaranteed “waterproof “, just “water resistance”. Think about it deeply Nate.

                                        But enjoy getting water damaged phone because it rains. Especially if you use the phone walking from outside to inside.
