Meizu m1 mini to be unveiled on January 28

19 January, 2015

In line with this months announcements from Oppo and Xiaomi, their compatriot Meizu is holding a press conference on January 28, titled "Connected". The event was made public on the company's official Weibo page. While we can only guess what stands behind that headline, information has surfaced, hinting that a new m1 mini will be the centerpiece of the show.

The smartphone is said to be built around a 5-inch screen and will be powered by a Mediatek chipset, but little else is known. The m1 mini will take on the likes of Xiaomi Hongmi 2, primarily in its home market, with an asking price of around $100.

The 5.5-inch Meizu m1 note was announced last month and looked much like a scaled up iPhone 5c. Its obviously smaller brother, the m1 mini will be even harder to tell apart from Apple's colorful previous generation.

Now that official info has been revealed about this phone. See now, just like I said, it perfectly describes your concept of today's mini having lower end hardware specs

He was talking about the terminology of 'mini' being low end hardware and not the actual size
