Meizu MX5 will be unveiled on June 30 with "full metal jacket"

19 June, 2015

When it comes to the unveiling date for the Meizu MX5, it looks like the rumors were true. It will happen on June 30.

At the beginning of May we first found out that this would be the big day for Meizu, and now the Chinese company has started sending out press invites for a special event on June 30.

Furthermore, the invite itself (which is pictured to the left) confirms that the MX5 will get a metal build, thanks to the words "full metal jacket" used. As for "born to kill", we assume that's regarding competitors' devices or something along those lines.

We've already seen the phone in an incredibly high amount of leaks, so that metal build is anything but a surprise at this point.

Based on past leaks, the Meizu MX5 should come with a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 20 MP rear camera, a 3 MP selfie shooter, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 3,150 mAh battery.

It will apparently be powered by a MediaTek MT6793 chipset with a 2.3 GHz octa-core CPU. It will run Android 5.0 Lollipop underneath the latest version of Meizu's own Flyme OS.
