Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses with a built-in HUD leak, sEMG wristband also featured
Meta let slip that it will launch its first smart glasses with a built-in HUD by posting a video on YouTube (which has since been removed). In the video, the glasses were paired with Meta’s sEMG wristband, which is used to control the interface.
The glasses offer a fixed HUD, which is visible to the right eye only. There is no attempt to integrate the visuals into the real world – these are not AR glasses – instead the idea is to have constant access to Meta AI, messaging, navigation and more.
These glasses have slightly chunkier frames and are reportedly heavier – measuring 70g, compared to 50g on other Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses (the ones without a display). These will be pricier too – $800, according to a report by Mark Gurman.
The glasses will apparently be marketed as the Meta Ray-Ban Display to clearly separate them from the other Ray-Ban models. Above you can see them with the regular Ray-Ban Meta glasses, the Oakley Meta HSTN, the still-unofficial Oakley Meta Sphaera glasses and the wristband.
This band looks to be an evolution of the Neural band we’ve seen before. It uses sEMG (Surface Electromyography), which detects electrical pulses from the muscles in your forearm to track the movement of your fingers – this allows you to interact with the glasses as you can see in the video below.
Meta Connect 2025, the company’s annual conference, starts today and there’s a very good chance that the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses will be unveiled (if not today then in the coming days). It’s probably no coincidence that this video was uploaded to YouTube now.
