Finally after talking to one of my friend on facebook who works for MEDIATEK in China, i got this 1.7Ghz and 2Ghz thing sorted out.
Let me first be clear what Mediatek's true octa-coring means. Most of the non-tech people confuse when it comes to octa-core processors. They tend to think about Samsung's Exynos octa-core processors which have two quad cores (both of different architecture) clocked at different speeds, coupled and working together. In them all the 8 cores will only work together when the need arises, rest only the quad core will suffice.
On the other hand Mediatek's octa core MT6592 chipset (based on single architecture) all the 8 cores operate at once, making it a true octa-core experience. MT6592 is based on Cortex A7, has 1MB L2 CPU cache, has a better memory technology and not to forget it has a better GPU (Mali-450 MP4, clocked at 700 Mhz) compared to the company's current popular fastest chipset MT6589T *Turbo* which is clocked at 1.5Ghz. (It is also a Cortex A7, 1MB L2 CPU cache but has inferior GPU, PowerVR SGX544 @ 357 MHz).
The best part of this octa-core chipset is that it supports NFC and 4k ultra-HD video playback.
MT6592 processor can be clocked at 2 different speeds, one being 1.7 Ghz and the other being 2 Ghz. This chipset clocked at 1.7 Ghz will easily give Antutu score of 20k+ with a good spec sheet. All the news of aroung 30K Antutu score was with this chipset clocked at 2Ghz.
Canvas Knight has MT6592 clocked at 1.7 Ghz. Dont worry about the clocked processor speed as 1.7 Ghz is HELL fast and does not lag at all under heavy processing. (Samsung's popular NOTE 2's quad core processor is clocked at 1.6 Ghz and it never hangs or lags.)
There are many Pro's of lower clocked speeds over higher ones. Major ones being the “heating issue" and "power consumption issue". In order to meet the demands of a technologically and aesthetically advanced (SLIMMER) cell phone, the battery size and its capacity becomes a constraint for the cell phone company. Lower clocked speed processors will have less power consumption, thereby reducing the battery size, making a cell-phone slimmer.
Canvas Knight is just 7.3mm wide, slimmest of all the canvas series phones. Many people will surely complain of its 2350mAh battery even before using it. But i think it will surely last for a day on moderate use. Heavy GAMERS please dont use this phone and cry, instead spend some more money and go for other big battery phones out in the market. If you do want to own this BUDGET beast phone and play heavy games, please spend some more money on power banks. There are plenty of them available and are doing their job well.
Canvas Knight will be good and i will buy it for sure. Friends i request you to please like this informative post so that it comes on top and other people can read this and clarify their doubts and make a right decision.

Hey Guys,
MMX is back creating some buzz in gizmo world with its recently launched octa core device in Russia.
If you are a MMX lover then I am sure that you must be expecting MMX to soon launch in India, a super swift device named Canvas knight which would have MT 8 core and must be expecting it to compete with likes of Nexus 5 and S4. But here is a roadblock :)
It only managed to score a bare 13,488 on Antutu. Device though looks great with its specs on paper but might not be as good as expected to perform. If MMX manages to launch this device under 20k in india then it would surely get some limelight but anything above 20k would prompt a user to go for few more and rather buy Nexus 5 or even elife 7 mini. This MMX device however do have some customization over android 4.2.2 but that would only lower the performance of this device.
