bought a Micromax A60 in January 2011. Since then the phone has been a constant pain. It switches off on its own and then one has to take out battery and restart it. It switches off atleast 2-3 times in a day and almost every night. I end up checking whether my phone is still on or not every 5 minutes.
It also has problem detecting wireless network even when you are right next to Wi-Fi router. You then have to manually force phone to scan for wireless networks and select one.
After couple of months usage battery discharges in couple of hours if you switch on data usage, either wi-fi or 3G.
I had even given it to Micromax service center for all these issues but they kept it for 1 month and even after that the phone had the same problems. Now I don't even feel like going back to service center because all they would do is keep it for another 1 month and return it back to me.
I would suggest people looking for a cheap android mobile to stay away from this one, as the hassles and headaches you get later clearly take away all the charm of low price tag.

this is NT meant for music or camera quality I m using from last 3 month .only thing which I like is Google android apps and net browsing through different software battery was ok.only smartphone not multimedia but bad touch screen experience

If we talk about battery it last's for 2 days if we use
task manager applications as its a multi tasking phone lot of applications running in the background reduces the battery charge also turn off gps, WiFi when not in use and can reduce the brightness of the phone to save the battery charge...

Hey i am using Micromax A60, from last weekened i am facing charger issue when i connect my phone to charger.It directly gives the message charged.
e.g if charge is only 10% remaining on fone and when i connect the charger by switching on.it shows charged.
Help me if me anyone.feedback it will be appreciable

lucky, 16 Jun 2011Even if it is rooted, it's impossible to update it to 2.2Now only we got recovery for this phone.
Developers at XDA developing Froyo Kernel.
Already one custom rom available for this phone.
