I've been using micromax Q5fb for almost 14 months & I suggest you should not go for the phone. The only points in favour of this phone is the low cost & advantage of dual sim (so that one can take advantage of tariffs from different operators)
The cons are:
1. Pathetic after sales service (they take almost 60 days in case some major fault is there in the phone as in my case).
2. SAR value not given on the website (although when I searched on google it says value is 1.87 W/kg which is quite high)
3. Camera quality very poor.
4. Trackball needed replacement & phone camera was stopped working. (Got the phone formatted but no to avail).
5. Sometimes the backlight doesn't switch off & keeps on draining the battery (to sort this out phone needs to be restarted).
It's better to go for one of the QWERTY phones nokia is offering. (in case you are a QWERTY freak otherwise there are many other options...)

yes is the great achivement from micromax this hanndset is very chief and smart phone looks very smart

i think it's a low cost juel to one who can operate this phone.i hav faced the track ball problem also.but there is a solution,
1/just take a cloath and pour adrop of water/head cleaner then scrab the ball by it forcely after that scrab the ball by a dry cloath then yr problem will be solved.
2/for net connect 2 yr pc through this phone-u a1st connect it with data cable, then on pc open the soft. cd of it and click on install driver.exe. then click on phonesuite.exe>settings> compor>creat con>dial up&enjoy

hey man actually u can download pc suite from micromax website or any other website and then connect it easily.
secondly about photo editing ,in reality it has a photo editor ,i dont know why are u unable to find it.if so then open any photo-go to options menu-click on edit-and enjoy editing

Dj, 16 May 2011Hw did i connect to pc suite.? I tried many tymes. Plz rply sooni too had to strive a lot to connect micromax q5 to pc for gprs. finally it worked.download cd with handset,from q5 phonesuite folder select file:phonesuite application ,select ;settings ,go to
new below operator ,give operator acess point like airtelgprs.com against application.go to available connections in the task bar, sellect
mobile modem gprs and u will connect net via data cable after selecting com port option in the handset.this iis procedure for windows 7

Micro max q5 is a beautiful set,i am really enjoying its battery performance as well as track ball,i am useing it seens from past one year but not a single problem from it,i really liked this set...if u pay me ten thousand also i am not ready to give...thanks to micro max...

not a gud cell camera is not so gud not a gud cell to buy so i would suggest don't go for it
