Anonymous, 30 May 2010i m using it from two months its really bad its dosent supp... moreI bought the phone on 31st March 2010, for 4500, was worth the price for two months, later on the charging connector broke off, and it costed 450 to fix it, as it is break (as quoted by service centre) does not come under warranty, got it repaired, then again connector broke off, and currently under repair free of cost as they dod not fix it correctly last time.

My advice, its good phone if you see it as a precious gem, if you want it for Rough & tough usgage, then pease look somewhere else... this does not stand even a jerk... I mean it.

Micromax, the brand which is introducing many innovative and feature-loaded handsets recently, has just launched the Q5. Micromax has labeled Q5 as a Facebook phone as it features dedicated Facebook app. Micromax Q5 has full qwerty keyboard, Facebook app, multi-instant messenger, 2 megapixel camera, built-in opera mini browser, Dual SIM card support and more. The new Micromax Q5 mobile phone is available at price of Rs.4190 in India.

      Design and construction

The Q5 is a bar-shaped phone. The Q5 measures 115mm tall, 62mm wide and 12.5mm thick. It weighs around 95 grams. This slim phone is solid and gives sturdy feeling in the hands. Its high quality built material gives luxury feel.

The Q5 is equipped with 5.6 cm screen, which offer reasonably good resolution of 320×240 Pixels and support 262000 colours. The screen is bright and colorful. The texts areclearly visible and photos, WebPages looks decent. The sun legibility is OK.

We loved the full qwerty keyboard. The keys are sufficiently larger and they are slightly raised bubble type, so they offer fast typing, heavy texters going to get very well benefited. This makes typinga breeze on the Micromax Q5.

The navigation array includes round trackball, the call key, the power/End key, a dedicated button for launching Facebook app, a home button, a back key and a search key. It will be fun to work on Trackball for navigating. We don’t have any gripes with the navigation array.

      Features

The Q5 comes with 1000 entry contact book. You can create and manage caller groups, and you can pair them with the photo, ringtones and polyphonic ringtones.

The essential features of the Micromax Q5 includes an unit converter, a world clock, a notepad, a stopwatch, calculator, calendar, vibrate mode, speaker phone, text and multimedia messaging.

The higher end features include Instant Messenger, Built-in Facebook app, USB mass storage, and Opera mini browser, Pc Syncing, Stereo Bluetooth, conference call, a voice memo recorder, voice dialing and more.

      Connectivity

You can surf the internet through GPRS, EDGE and WAP 2.0. You can also use Opera Browser to avail faster browsing. The shorter internal memory limits the surfing experience. This phone has preinstalled integrated Facebook app and you can connect with your friend instantly. You can avail data transfer via Stereo Bluetooth and USB. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support Email and Push Email.

      Camera

The Q5 is equipped with 2 megapixel camera, which can take pictures at 1600×1200 pixels. The camera is very basic with limited features that includes digital zoom. You can also record video. The picture quality is satisfactory but not the greatest. The pictures look sharp and colorful, but they lack brightness. The video quality is average.

      Multimedia

The music player in the Q5 is very nice. The interface is simple and has got standard control options. The music player supports wide range of audio formats including MP3, WAV, MIDI, AAC, AAC+ and AMR. It also features video player. Both audio and video quality is good. You will also get Stereo FM radio with RDS feature. It also comes with few built-in games. It has built-in Yamaha Audio Amplifier that boosts the sound.

We are bit concerned about the small internal memory at 15MB. You will get 2GB memory and you can extend up to 8GB.

      Performance

The call quality of the MicromaxQ5 is decent. Callers at another end also doesn’t have problem. The speakerphone is quite loud and has better quality.

The Q5 is powered by 1000mAh Lithium-Ion battery. It has rated battery life of 5 hours talktime and 180 hours standby time.

The Sales Package of the Micromax Q5 includes Standard Battery, Transceiver i.e., the handset, Hands-free Kit, Standard Charger, Service Guide and User Guide.

Guys its a handset just priced at 3800 approx. so expecting much more than its value and comparing them with the leading brands available would not be a good idea..

It provides a value for money and better than the rest of the Chinese phone available in the market ;)

Excellent sound quality, great functions and cool features at a cheaper price. I never expected this from an indian company. I am loving Q5 ever since I am using it.

As per price(3950Rs/-) concern mobile is GOOD. But I found problem/Disadvantages which are listed below.
                      1) When someone call, Number can't get display on screen DURING MOBILE RINGING. so if someone has two number entry for phone book Home & Office we can't know from where he/she called.

                      2) Though sound is superb audio player don't have functionality of Playlists, Album, Artist, Genre wise sorting which common mobile has.

Guys, Please let me know How can i get rid from this problem.

P.S. I only focus those problems which no one has posted before here, I think so.

Hello - I have purchased this y'day for 3750 in Kolkata. Pretty good except for the weight as of now.
Can anybody tell me how I can remove the 512 character limitation when replying to webmails using Opera Mini? Is this a limitation of Opra or of the phone memory?

it's dual sim phone but not dual active, like if u r busy in talking on sim 1 then sim 2 will be inactive vice-versa for sim 2. so it's bad thing.
