wondering why and how they released five of these phones consecutively over such a short range of time

The worst cell phone I have ever purchased. Micromax Q4220 (Micromax Vdeo 5)
Comes bundled with malware that SELF-INSTALLS random apps.
I am a fairly technical guy and tried every method of troubleshooting this, including two factor resets. Nothing works. Read up online and realized that quite a few manufacturers have started this practice. The apps not only cause tremendous lags but themselves also secretly eat up massive amounts of internet data (and storage too I suspect)
SHAME ON MICROMAX for indulging in this shady practice. I have bought several Micromax phones before but NEVER AGAIN!

Very good phone with spread trum SC9832 processor, perfect super fast for internet also camera hardware super.
I am very eager to purchase this phone.please release soon.
