Microsoft close to fixing Surface Pro 3 battery problem

Himanshu, 18 August, 2016

Late last month, Microsoft finally commented on the Surface Pro 3 battery degradation issue, saying that the problem is not related to battery cells, and can be addressed via a software update. However, the company hasn't rolled out a fix yet.

Replying to a user query on Twitter earlier this week, Brian Hall, General Manager for Surface, said that they have fixed the problem at their end but need "a little more time" to do some "depth testing."

For those who aren't aware, Surface Pro 3 users have been complaining for months now that their device is reporting lower battery capacity than expected. For its part, Microsoft has said that only a limited number of customers are experiencing this issue.

Well, to be honest. I will not get me a Surface pro 4 and will not recommend the product to end customers. I have lost to much data on these power outs. Microsoft need to shape up big time!

The Microsoft Tech at the stores deny its a software problem and try to get the service to repair for a fee because the pro 3 is out of warranty.
