Microsoft officially gives up on fitness wearables as it stops selling the Band 2
Today Microsoft has stopped selling the Band 2 fitness wearable. Furthermore, the company has removed all traces of this product from its online store. The Band SDK isn't online anymore either.
For a while now it's been rumored that the company would not ever release a Band 3, and that in fact it's given up on making its own fitness bands. The team behind the Band and Band 2 has also reportedly moved on to other projects.
Microsoft still won't admit it's completely given up on wearables, at least for now, but it did issue the following statement on the situation:
We have sold through our existing Band 2 inventory and have no plans to release another Band device this year. We remain committed to supporting our Microsoft Band 2 customers through Microsoft Stores and our customer support channels and will continue to invest in the Microsoft Health platform, which is open to all hardware and apps partners across Windows, iOS, and Android devices.
Apparently Microsoft will focus on software in this space in the future, so expect a bigger push of its Health platform, working alongside hardware from many different vendors. Let's all observe a moment of silence for the short lived Microsoft Band hardware experiment then.

Something is wrong with that picture !! why is the time facing in that direction? what an awkward way to read the time. One simple function..... and its done wrongly. The product line deserves not to be sold.

Microsoft did not say they are giving up on their fitness band, also sales of the band is still listed on their official website. I do not know where this lie is coming from.
