Moto 360 (2nd gen) is starting to receive Android Wear 2.0 update today
Motorola has promised to finally deliver the update to Android Wear 2.0 to its Moto 360 (2nd gen) smartwatches by the end of this month. And here we are, rapidly approaching said deadline. The good news is that Motorola has revealed that the update is going to start hitting its smartwatches today. The bad news is that this is going to be one of those infamous phased rollouts, so there's no telling when every single Moto 360 (2nd gen) unit will finally receive it.
So if you own one of these watches, know you're in the home stretch now. Or rather, the update is. You just need to be a little bit more patient. You probably are a very patient person since you've already been waiting for the Android Wear 2.0 update since February, when Google said it was sending it out - but obviously didn't.
On the other hand, things could be worse. The Moto 360 Sport is identical on the inside to the 2nd gen Moto 360, but an Android Wear 2.0 update for that model is "coming soon", with no time frame to speak of. Android Wear 2.0's main new features are a refreshed UI, a Play Store of its own, and support for watch face complications.
