Moto G86 full specs sheet also leaks online

Motorola is preparing the Moto G86, and we spotted some renders of the phone last month. Today, we get a new leak that confirmed that the images were the real deal, but more importantly also adds a full specs sheet.

The leak comes hours after the Moto G56 leaked in similar fashion. It seems like Motorola will bring this phone with two battery variants. The Moto G86 will also have 4 years of bimonthly updates, but only in the EMEA region, because Motorola is obliged to do so by the European Union.

The phone is part of the Moto G entry series, and as such will have a Dimensity 7300 chipset. It will offer either 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB storage, but there will be a microSD slot (which might have a dedicated spot in the card tray, depending on the market).

The cameras on the back are three, but we only know the main one will have a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor and OIS, while the secondary will be a basic 8 MP ultra-wide snapper. The selfie shooter packs a 32 MP sensor and sits inside a punch hole.

Moto G86 will have either 5,200 mAh or 6,720 mAh battery capacity. Companies like Realme and Xiaomi have already gone this way, and it seems like Europe might get the smaller battery, which also comes with a thicker body.

The massive discrepancy arises from the different requirements across regions for a product to pass testing and obtain certification. EU member countries require manufacturers to adhere to the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) regulations; however, products must pass sequential tests. This process takes significant time, and it seems Motorola is in a hurry to launch the Moto G86.

5200mAh and D7300 makes G86 look like a "Edge 60 Fusion Lite FE" or close, but on a budget, but 6720mAh as default would be a beast for a midrange like this. Unfortunatelly, Motorola still do stupid choices like releasing the same phon...

Enough of this 1.5k display bs now! The k-value is taken from the largest of width/height by adding a dot after the first character in the number. This phone would be 2.7k. How hard can this be?

Exactly, that's why I didn't ask for 4 OS updates and 5 year security updates - just 3 OS and 4 years of security updates at the minimum. Anything below that for such a spec is bad.
