Moto Maker now lets Chinese users customize Moto X

28 May, 2015

Motorola’s device personalization service Moto Maker has finally made its way to China. At the on-going Lenovo Tech World, Motorola’s parent company Lenovo has announced that the Moto Maker will offer users customization of their Moto X from motomaker.cn. As reported earlier, this is part of the company's plan to make the Moto Maker service available worldwide.

The Moto Maker service allows you to select a color and material for the rear panel as well as put a colorful accent on the side and even engrave your unit.

This is possible only if the Moto X is purchased from the Moto Maker website and not available to the phones bought from third-party retailers. And of course, the customization service charges add a bit to the final cost of the Moto X.

Right now, Moto Maker supports only Moto X and there is no info about the Moto 360 joining it. Motorola will sell the Moto X from Moto Maker starting from RMB2,799 ($450).

As a limited time promotion Motorola will sell the Moto X for RMB2,699 ($435), Moto X Pro for RMB3,999 ($645), and Moto G for RMB999 ($161) until June 2.
