you'll send sms same as you would on the a1000 and a92x phones. There will be a roman keyboard and handwriting recognition icon along the bottom of the screen. If you open the larger picture of the phone you'll see the keyboard icon right next to the time.

I like it , great phone but I did not buy one because my friend has one and the performance on it is quite poor. Very slow thing. Rich with features though. Has lots of features in it. They need to make it a bit quicker though. One has to wait for ever for anything to open up from the minute you start it up the waiting begins..

i have 3 phones at the mo; nokia 9500 communicator, nokia 7710 touchscreen and motorola a1000....if u want good data management, go for 9500..if u wanna look cool n stuff,7710 is the answer.what do i have to say about a1000 is, it uses the same system as seP910 but the design is way much better..

This phone supports UMTS and GSM, right? I'm in the US, so I was wondering if i would use it here since we have GSM and UMTS is still about a year and a half to 2 years away. Also, does it have a full HTML web browser? I know the A1000 doesn't have a full browser so you can't access any site you want. It uses WAP 2.0. Also, some sites say that the A1010 supports WCDMA but others don't. Is this true? And, when is this thing coming out? Is "soon" reallly a possibility? How does the A1010 compare with Nokia 7710 or Nokia 9300/9500 communicators? I'm so confused on what to buy.

Will according to Motorola Sweden be realsed in the Q4... 3 will be the only operator in Sweden but you never know... That was the answer i've got for "her"... (Sales representiv Motorola)

You cannot compare the two phones, A1010 is a PDA and the SE is a candybar phone. Totaly different phones A1010 is a UMTS and the SE is a GSM phone. Ifc you would like to compare the A1010, compare it wiht the P910 or simulare. Sorry for all spelling errors!!!!

I am with Vodafone right now and have been for the last 5yrs but i just know that which network got this phone, i will change to it... If 3 got them, i will go with them... but i just hope Vodafone get them too so i dont have to change...
I am waiting for this fone to come out fast and i just dont know why it takes that long. If by the time it come out too long, other company probably will have something similar or better :)

Good news! I just spoke to the Motorola shop twice (speaking to two different people) and the first guy said the A1010 will be out on Vodafone "in a couple of months" and the second guy said "end of May"! So either way, it looks like it's arriving ahead of schedule!
I think this is due to the fact that alot of people (including me) wanted the A1000 but not if it meant changing to 3. Therefore they're releasing this one through a more reputable provider, without the usual 'between model wait'!

cool hp. specs are great. agree though that a1010 can do wif a better design. design's not that nice to me;P
hmm..is it rEAlly wifi-integrated?
it doesn't say on the specs list and i thought that this pda/hp has got no wifi?
