To the person who posted about the phone not picking up a signal after 2 weeks...
My phone did the same thing after 6 months. I had to take it in to get serviced, and they had to replace a part (have no idea what it is called, though) that was really critical. I dropped $100 on it, but it's under warranty now. You may have to do the same thing.
Also, my phone 'died' mid-call this week. I was able to turn it on after fidgeting with the battery, but it sure gave me a scare. Anyone else with these problems and know why this phone can be so unstable? When it works I love it, but it's not as reliable as the old chunky phones!

I'm a little confused... lots of people claiming to be 'phone conniseurs' are gushing over a phone that has very few internet options? Or am I not understanding something about this phone? I think majority of people praising the phone are most likely ex-Razr owners. With At&t and T-mobile slowly building 3G networks in the U.S., it's most prudent to save your money and wait for 3G enabled phones, or else you're dropping $300 for a phone that's already outdated. Even if you don't care about 3G, at least look for something that has Wi-fi at least. There is no reason for phones to not have this unless they are budget phones.

Are the specs correct? No 3G, no wi-fi, no EDGE? Only GPRS? That doesn't seem like cutting edge tech to me.

I love this phone and I own it. It is kinda sad that they dont have this technology in USA. It takes a few days to learn the true features and get assimilated into this technology. Some of the probelms that I have been advised to be weary of is to not bring this phone to any magnetic devices. The other issue is having your computer snyc upto motorolla a1200.

A1200 is more than just a technology. This piece can sell you out. I love it.Oooooooo, least i forget, I just got one (Black). So cute, so everything. I love my slick.

Disappointed . Phone worked for only two weeks. Now no net work ID and no transmission indicator despite the antenna enabled. Also searching for network. Tried SIM card on another phone and it works. What could be the problem.

hey u guys...dis phone is d best i had ever own .......plz dnt care about low volume...that bug can b vanished with a application called volumeup specially made for ming a1200 by YAN(d xpert)....so go on buy one and see u hav d best one in d town.......goodluck....

m seriously considering this phone but am a little leary about it after reading some of the comments listede here and elsewhere.
1. It sounds like the ring and call volume levels are not very good.. (can anyone verify this?) I have found that all 3 of my last phones suffered the same issue. (Nokia 6260, Imate SmartFlip, O2 XDA Atom Exec)
2. I found that Microsoft Operating systems work very well, and am a little unfamiliar with Linux. I love the ability to access and edit Microsoft Office documents on the fly. Is editing available with this model???
3. I saw a couple of posts that claimed the touchscreen was easily scratched. Any validity to this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i love my a1200. can anyone tell me how to increase the volume on the loudspeaker. i mean at loudest its kinda quiet. is there a software that increases the max volume? please help.

i love this phone so much i would like to have it but i in trinidad this place is the cheapest
