yeah, i'm that guy swimming with the phone in the ocean(proving they are NOT waterproof)
anyway, MING have too many issues coming up during the usage in the first few months, i've been here and on multiple forums and My greatest opinion- IF YOU ARE NOT PROGRAMMER, or INTO F-KING arround with your phone at your risk and expense- DO NOT GET IT!
unless of course you know someone owning this phone for a year and done multiple MODS on it!otherwise it's not yours! also it's not considered a BUSINESS phone(lacks a lot of features) and suxx as a music phone!
N95 is the sht.! although pricey!
N80 is the second best, but buy a spare batteries!

WELL, currently i'm a former user of NOKIA N80 , which i believe is a VERY GOOD unit except a battery life(i have 9 spares)well, I took an accidental swim in the Atlantic ocean last week(guess where my phone was)!!!
aniway, i will get an A1200 today(used by my bosses son) and i'm an IT guy for that man.
My opinion about A1200- Great phone if you are into GSM screwing arround, as this phone has too many bugs, and problems( in my case- misalligned screen)I personally willing to modify it with suggestions of MING forumers, and that's the only way...
otherwise it's a very risky investment, although it's not bad looking phone!
Yesterday i've looked LIVE at NOKIA N95, my opinion- It's THE BEST! although quiet expensive $750.00 US dollars. gotta work hard and fix a lot of computers to get that much to spend on the phone!

I have called the Motorola's customer service locally on whether can A1200 play mp3 or listening songs over bluetooth. Confirmed it is not workable through normal single side bluetooth headset; it only can do so through stereo headset H-820.

This phone SUCKS!!!!! I spent a small fortune on this phone because of all the fantastic features for my husband. He has had the phone for not even 5 months...he can no longer see anything on the screen when the phone rings so you don't know who is calling....it no longer works with the bluetooth receiver....he can no longer use it alone he has to use it with the ear bud otherwise he can't hear anyone and....now there is a HORRIBLE echo....WASTE OF MONEY!!!! I am soooooooooooooooo disappointed with Motorola.

This phone sucks. Died on my in 6 month. From the 1st month of having it I used it with my bluetooth and it would loose signal. This is my 2nd Moto and is my last ever. Motorola don't have good reliable phones.

This phone DOES support EDGE, but it is not enabled by default. The Motorolafans forums have lots of information about how to mod this phone to enable all sorts of features. I've had mine about a year and it's been great. And yes, the joystick goes in 4 directions and is also a button. Some games and programs don't quite work as intended because of the touch screen though.

                            Not advised to buy

Yes, this phone is suitable for teen because this phone is really not a business phone, no Edge, no wi fi, not 3g, actually, overall this is a nice phone but the only prob is it has 8 mb built in user memory only but u can add up using the micro sd,ok? word of advice, it's your choice that matters at the end, ok? happy choosing! oh, by the way, from the Philippines too, phone enthusiast.!=>

Does the joystick on the Ming allow 4 way navigation or two way i.e. only up down or left and right as well?

Go into SET UP then DATA NETWORK and create a new profile - then go to the browswser and set tmobile as the default profile.
For multimedia messaging go into your message screen -> Service set up -> Multimedia message and enter the settings below.

I just Cingular but the set up is the same and works fine.

It is a really decent phone. I own a black one. The features surprise me everyday. These kind of phones are not for everyone but it definately works for me
