Wow, what a great phone.
What I love about this phone.
I can have several browser windows open at a time, great display, it sinks with my outlook calender, tasks and phone book. I can use it as a modem with my laptop. The extra t-flash storage is a big help when it comes to memory. I can switch between applications. The small stilus is something to figit with when waiting for the web browser but works nicely. Battery life is about 4 - 5 hours while on the web. And the shortcuts on the home page make it quick to open your favorite applications.
What is OK
The camera/video recorder, resolution not to good but I bought it to be a phone and for it's mobile web capibilities. The FM radio might get better with a better headset. The phone interface could be better, hard to use the keypad when checking voicemail. And the Business card reader does ok.
And what I don't like
The 5 way navagation joy stick could be just a touch larger. The volume and smart keys should be replaced with a wheel. The snowboarding game won't let me win. The voice recignition is awful expecially while driving. I don't see why there isn't more memory. And the realplayer is incomplete expecially if I have to download files to it so I can play common video formats.
Things I haven't tried yet
The dictionary
The photo editor
The document viewer
I'm still using an AT&T Wireless plan on the Cingular network and refuse to change untill they offer me a plan that is remotly comparable. I have the settings for the web browser and text messaging. I'm working on the email, but I need to set up a pop3 email account, I understand that Yahoo is set up for this.
Also, does anyone know how to write software to have it play a mp3 when you open the cover? I would really like it if it could be attached to a certian ring profile.
Overall I give this phone an 8.5
Before I bought this phone I had the MPx220 and this phone kicks its ...... around the block.

Hi everyone. I have bought a ming a1200 a few days ago. Great phone! I'm having a problem on the procedure to download the dictionary software into the phone. I've got Motorola Phone Tools loaded ok and transferred my address book from my V3. I just can't seem to find instructions on the procedure exactly how to preload the Longman dictionary CD into the phone. Can anyone help me out a little? Thanks!

I bought this phone two days ago and it has been working great. The few things I have noticed is that the music in real player plays softer than they do in the headphones. Also it's difficult to find applications and games for this phone. Can anyone help?

I got an A1200 recently. I wanted to know if I can see my wallpaper full screen when the flap is closed, e.g. without the meetings and time and all the stuff in the standby mode.

I love the phone I got it I believe before thanksgiving the only problem I am having that I don't think has been mentioned would be the ability to play video's. Either in avi format or any other possible format I am not able to think of right now, any help would be greatly appreciated. A little off topic but I was on the metro today and I saw a woman in front of me with her IPOD and her phone and I just couldn't stop laughing inside because people have cell phones, ipods, and PDA's yet our phone does almost all the same features.
