i juz got this phone for a week...awesome...very nice!...juz the speaker too soft...but i manage to increase the volume or the Mp3...BUT!!!,how to install the application that come with the BOX?...i mean, the original application in a CD?..it always ask to get "license"???

Hi there.
I am not sure what happened here. I have been using my hands free (non-bluetooth) and all of sudden, I don't hear anything from the phone without my hands free connected to the phone. It seems to me that a phone is somehow mistaken to be connected to a hands free system. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Any suggesting would be appreciated.

Hi, I just ordered this phone off of ebay, and i have a couple of questions. Is the internet free? or do i need to set up a plan with my provider? And what is the difference between the edge version and the non edge version? please help!!!!

I bought this phone 5 months ago. Till now still can't get the software for the phone.
Really don't like that speaker... it's very soft!!
Anyone here know where to get the software for this phone?

Hello people, I am just considering buying the A780. However, I am strongly concerned with security (I do not understand why manufacturers do not highlight security features) and I need some questions to be answered before I would do so. Be so kind to give me an advice, please, you the owners of this unit.
Does the mail client support IMAPs, POP3s, and SMTPs with authorization. Could you be more specific about the server-side SMTP settings that work for you.
I suppose that the Opera browser supports HTTPS but I would like to have it confirmed explicitly.
Are there any experiences using a SSH client? I have found some negative comments regarding MidSSH. They did not seem to reliable, though.

Hey its me alison again, I have one problem again. Ever time I acess mobile msn, it goes through the web page comes up just like a PC, but when enter my email address and password to check by mail I'm getting a reply saying " FAIL GETTING MEDIA. CONTENT ERROR, AN ERROR OCCURIED DURING DE-COMPRESSION FROM DEFLATE OR its saying TO ACCESS YOU NEED A SECURE TRANSFER PROTOCOL (WTLS)" Someone please help me I am getting fustrated with this now. Please Please help me................

you madarchod you have two a/c so you can use only one
at a time only then it will work. You need toi go to settings and then use your instinct to solve your problem.

Is there a feature in a780 to change themes?
i.e. changing the backgrounds and color coding as provided by sony ericsson T610/S700.

Hi guyz one more query... i got a GPRS connection from my service provider, when i enabled it, the small G at the end of the signal indicator turned green. But all of a sudden when i woke up today morning, the G had changed to E!!! Just wondering, is it possible for us to choose b\w GPRS and EDGE or is it set by the service provider??

Just click on the game icon and hold on for ~5 seconds and a menu will show up. You can then select the uninstall option.

Hi all.... managed to figure out the first problem(i.e uninstalling apps). However still cannot find a solution to the second problem :( and to add to the list, is it possible to set an audible alert for missed calls?? And what about the battery indicator? its very inconsistent on my mobile. Is anyone else having the same problem. I just transferred about 20 mb of data on bluetooth and the battery fell off from 100 to 50%?? Do let me know. Thanks.

Hi guyz.. just got the phone a couple a dayz back... its awesome to say the least!! Anyway i had a couple a queries. Whenever i get a message, the selected alert goes off 5 times, gradually upping the volume. Is it possible to play it say just once?? Secondly, i installed a downloaded game and i'm not able to figure out how to remove it. Any help will be appretiated. Thanks.

UK Motorola website provides operator's settings info for various telcos in most countries. Sadly, most if not all Asian countries are not in the list.
In Singapore, M1 users can try port 8081 instead of 9201 as indicated on its website. Refer to other Moto models listed on the website for the rest of the data. Starhub's users can find all relevant info on its website.

I just got this phone today. It's a little harder to understand than my Nokia, but so far I like it. However, I'm wondering if there might be more software out there to connect it with the PC.
I have a bunch of pictures from my old phone that I stored on my PC. I don't know how to move those pictures to my A780. I have the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools, but that doesn't seem to move pictures.
With my Nokia Software Suite I could just drag and drop. Does Motorola have any equivelent software?

OK, I've worked with the phone all weekend; here's the status:
1. The phone now connects sporadically with Outlook. I can synchronize my Calendar and Task, but hit-n-miss with Contacts.
2. I can connect with the internet with the Opera browser and can receive email, but not send email.
3. I still don't see any solution to by "business first" use of the phone. If I want to call a hotel in Montreal, it's impossible using my current configuration with Outlook. The Phone Tools software is kind of interesting with its split screen (one for Outlook, the other for the phone), but I have a lot of contacts to rework in order to be "compliant" with the new software. Does anyone know of an easy fix?
