Had three in four months always dropping calls and was never able to roam. Kept taking it back to sprint but the tech kept refreshing updating or resetting the P O S I was not satisfied with it . Sprint can claim allot wants on how good that junk is but I had one and left for other network and phone

This phone is as good as you're going to get if you want Android functionality and Sprint / Nextel Direct Connect. Yes, there are many other options out there, but if you have to have Direct Connect as I do, this is a great phone. It is a hybrid, and beats the heck out of my previous BlackBerry Curve with Direct Connect. If you don't need Direct Connect, don't buy this phone. As far as battery life, you need to learn to manage the settings such as auto display shutoff, that is the most important. Set it to 30 seconds or 1 minute after no activity and you should get a full day's use out of the battery, like 9 - 10 hours tops. My only complaint is that I wish it had a secondary forward-facing camera so I could video call on Skype.

Not happy with this phone. I drop so many calls ,I do not have very good service and the battery life is very short . I am not sure if it is just the phone or it is sprint itself. Not the type that wants to complain but dropping some very importanting calls makes me wonder about sprint itself. However every time I call sprint they are very helpful to me.

AnonD-11120, 08 Nov 201179 hours of standby? Are you kidding me? Or it's just mistyped? I have just bought this phone, not sure if others are having trouble with battery life but i'm getting about 7hrs of good use before having to recharge. not something i'm use to. wish the battery lasted longer but over all the phone is ok.

Don't buy this flop of a phone. Before and after root, this phone is a non-functioning piece of garbage. CONSTANTLY reboots itself (at least once per day), the cheap touchscreen functions worse than the Droid Pro, the extra keys on the phone are a gimmick, and it's not supported by developers OR Motorola themselves. In addition, the app selection is TERRIBLE because of the odd screen resolution (I can't get GTA game app, Sketchbook Mobile, Polaris Office, Oregon Trail, Push Ups Pro, etc.! Swype isn't even supported!)

People, STAY AWAY from Motorola Android phones, please. Me and many others have had the same software problems with EVERY SINGLE ONE (inc. Droid Razr, Droid X, Droid Pro, etc.) Motorola offers nothing but garbage low quality "MotoBlur," a pile of crap. Performs horribly, looks ugly, and is a joke of a smartphone.

Buy Samsung or HTC if you must go with the buggy, fragmented Android OS (which I'm sick of). This phone will probably end up "stolen" and I may get a Windows Phone soon.

I just got this phone a few days ago as an upgrade from my 7 month old Droid Pro. It's alright as a mid-range device.

The only impressive thing is the keyboard, hardware buttons, and battery life. The keyboard is amazing. Better than the Droid Pro because it's more Blackberryish and slightly wider. The keys aren't stiff like the Droid Pro's, instead they are soft and very clickable. Besides the awesome keyboard, the volume keys are MUCH improved, the Direct Connect button can serve as a convenience key shortcut for any app you'd like, and there is a dedicated camera button, finally (although the stock camera app takes a few seconds to open). Also, they include a speaker changing button on top (to switch from the main loudspeaker to the phone speaker). Battery life is pretty good. With moderate use -- a few phone calls here and there, some internet use, app downloading, music listening, etc. -- the phone lasts me at least a full 24 hours before getting low. And that's on max performance mode.

VGA screen, 720p video recording, average picture quality. As for the screen, colors are more vivid and accurate than the Pro, however they are washed out and dull in comparison to the super AMOLEDs of the most current phones. I may write another short review about the camera quality later if there's anything significant to say. Fast shutter speed and decent quality pics is all I will note for now.

The processor improves by 200 Mhz but everything else is pretty much the same as the Pro. Motorola's MotoBlur software lags as usual and the screens are not pretty or impressive. Compared to the current TouchWiz, MotoBlur is a joke and there are barely any added features (I found myself going through pretty much the same menus).

The phone's performance is good. Good sound quality and speakers are louder than the Pro's. Feels good in the hand and it's easier to type on than the Pro. The phone is actually slightly wider and shorter than the Droid Pro, giving it more of a landscape screen by a few millimeters. Looks nicer too.

The LED notification is bright and colorful, which is a plus compared to the Pro's dull LED. The keyboard seems to light up sporadically and sometimes stays on even when I'm watching a video. Charging port lights up brightly when plugged in like the Pro.

Overall this phone addressed the main problems I had with the Droid Pro (mainly hardware issues), but there are still some minor problems. For example, the phone is still somewhat top heavy (improved though), and I still despise the capacitive menu buttons and wish for send/end keys. In terms of speed there is a SLIGHT performance over the Droid Pro, but I am disappointed Motorola did not aim for higher specs. Needs an FM radio. I would've liked a dual-core processor and a good, crisp, colorful screen, at least. As for the MotoBlur, I am disappointed as usual and wish I could root this phone and get a custom ROM.

Lastly, this phone is rugged. I haven't dropped it and don't plan to, but it seems sturdy and could probably take a lot of abuse.

Unfortunately it seems that this phone will be outdated very quickly because of the meager specs. I only recommend it if you NEED a portrait keyboard on your phone that is Blackberryish in feel, if you don't care for superb camera quality, and if multimedia or apps are NOT your priority (a few apps don't work with the odd resolution of the screen). Otherwise, it is a good mid-range phone and just that.
