Motorola announces MOTO Z9 and Smart Rider carphone
After a heap of Motorola rumors that have been spreading online like wildfire and after a lot of debate about the mishaps of their Mobile division, the US-based company is finally announcing two new GSM handsets, targeted mainly at the US.
The Motorola Z9 we already thoroughly told you about is finally out with a signed deal with the US carrier AT&T. The Z9 slider has quad-band GSM support and dual-band UMTS support (HSDPA 3.6 Mbps). Behind the fashionable glossy red surface you might also find stereo Bluetooth, a microSD memory card slot (up to 8GB cards), and a 2 megapixel snapper.
Motorola Z9 exclusively by AT&T
The Motorola Z9 will also make use of the proprietary AT&T GPS Navigator service thanks to the built-in GPS receiver. Bear in mind that it seems this is the first AT&T feature phone to feature GPS at all.
The Motorola Z9 is yours for grabs for only $150 after a special online discount at AT&T website. You still have to sign a 2-year contract with them though.
The Motorola M990 Smart Rider In-Vehicle Phone certainly won't grab first place at a beauty contest, but it features a built-in GPS receiver and interactive voice activation.
The Motorola M990 Smart Rider phone has a 2.8-inch display that is used for turn-by-turn navigation, voice-guided driving instructions, real-time traffic reports and automatic re-routing.
But it's a GSM phone too, so you can make and receive calls wirelessly with it thanks to Bluetooth technology.
The Motorola M990 Smart Rider phone will be available in June 2008.

Thats true. While the other companies strive for more features which are just secondary, Motorola is striving to create phones which are outstanding in terms of call quality and ergonomics.
