bobby, 03 Jun 2011the battery life sucks .. it doesnt even last me a day and ... morethat's because your running too many apps in the background, you need a task killer. by the way no smartphone last more than 2 days if you want battery life you shouldn't consider getting a smartphone especially an android.

I am planning to buy a new phone but confused with optimus 2x and motorola atrix.
optimus 2x - 'auto shutdown' issue in some pieces and it support only 512 MB RAM. whereas Atrix is good in specs ( 1GB RAM) but only problem is no FM(but not a dealbreaker for me).
so finally when this phone is releasing in India. so i could afford one as soon.

The DROID3 is looking more and more like the first real next-gen player of 2011 for Verizon, but if it ends up running Froyo at release, there better be a firm paddle to the rear of the person responsible for making that decision. We’re almost positive this phone will run on TI’s new OMAP 4430 dual-core processor, sport a 4″ qHD screen, front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, 5-row keyboard, and HDMI out. So with all of this new technology tossed in, why go with last year’s OS? The original DROIDX just received GB – let’s do the right thing here and release it with this phone as well. OK, Big Red?

Santana, 26 May 2011I have a Milestone & they never kept up their promise o... moreit happens to me also. have used desire hd wildfire.. all gets heated up.. due to the outside temperature.. and the usage of internet through wifi or edge..also make the phone heat up to 40 celcius

I have a Milestone & they never kept up their promise on Froyo 2.2 upgradation release for India.
Nevrtheless the phone gets hot enormously during talking !!!
Is it the same fate for all Android and especially Motorola ones ?

Yep certainly a very good phone...
This is my first android phone as I was using the i8910 which uses symbian.
It really is a breath of fresh air :):)...so, unlike other I ain't too fussed about android 2.3 jailbreaking blah blah....I'm just loving the android experience abeit using a high end device :):)
I've been looking at vs battles between this and the LG 2xx, SGs2 and to be honest even after the bench marks I don't believe I'm missing out much. All these are fast and have great spec build wise it's certainly the Atrix and LG in front.
I got a phone that works very well, is speedy, great screen and will do me nicely for the next 18 months...
As per my previous comment....Orange UK have again dropped the ball BIG TIME!!!
Delivery of the Work and Play Kits has been severly disrupted. They didn't even have the courtesy to tell anyone. It took me to phone them to find out.
Also two of their agents told I would receive it with 7 to 10 days of recieving the phone but have know been told it can up 28 days !?!?!?...Come Orange UK sort your story and precedures out, you really are letting the customer down.
Not only this, they "forgot" to add the data and pic msg part of my contract.....Sorted now thanks to the very helpful Adam in the Orange loyalty team :) But leave a bitter taste in one's mouth....
Don't the above put you off the phone though :)
