Motorola Atrix 4G for AT&T going for $49.99 right now

10 April, 2011

If you still think that a powerful smartphone transforming into a netbook through an add-on is a great idea, but too pricey you might be in luck. The Motorola Atrix 4G for AT&T is going for $50 just for this weekend (it will be $100 after that) and you get a coupon for $100 off the laptop dock.

When the Motorola Atrix 4G launched in the US, it commanded $130. Now Amazon Wireless is offering the super Moto for just $50 on a individual or family account for new customers. Upgrades for existing are $100 (individual) or $130 (family). Just the phone costs $600. Plans for AT&T’s Motorola Atrix 4G start at $40.

The Laptop Dock for the Atrix 4G is available on Amazon for $400 right now but with the $100 off coupon, you can get that down to more acceptable levels. Still, that’s pretty close to the price of a standalone fully functional Android tablet.

P.S. If you’re getting confused by all the “4G” talk, the Motorola Atrix 4G supports HSPA+, which AT&T has labeled 4G. In reality, it’s a fraction below 4G (3.75G or so, depending on who you ask).
