In your root folder on your phone (accesible through P2Ktools), the folder called a/, there should be two gif files called "Custwakeup" & "Custgoodbye". Back those files up and delete from phone. If you don't find files called that, then you don't have a startup animation.
To be sure it is the correct file, open them and see if they look familiar.
For instance, if you have a bubble floating accross the screen on your phone, then check for a gif animation that looks like that, and simply remove it. Even if it is not called either of the two names given above, just try. I have deleted both without putting them back and the phone worked fine. It simply skips the search for the file and continues loading.
Mine was the SP animated logo. Then use any program to either create a new gif or gif animation at the 128 * 128 size and copy it back to ur phone.
If you find that the animations are called something else, simply rename your gif files the same.
I have not been able to delete the motorola initial flower pic that comes up before you enter your pin. The animation you put on will show after the pin has been accepted, and a you switch off.

to neo:
im using p2ktools to enable the java app loader and upload it with midway.
i think pst7.11 is the fully patched of older version of 6.x.
of course you have to turn on your phone and get connected if you are transferring data from pc to phone and vice versa :D

I found the below post by romeo gal on how to enable and upload java apps:
1.install usb driver , PST , MIDway
2.Run PST > New KJava > Read Phone > Enable java on phone
3. Power up the Phone.
4. Click Menu->Settings->Java Settings->Java App Loader.
5. It shows a Dialog on the screen "Insert Cable Now"
6. Insert USB Cable.
7. The phone should display "Jal Link is active."
8. Run MIDway 2.8.
My questions to anyone who can help:
Is PST 7.1.1 proven for enabling java apps or we need the older PST 6.7?
When we run the PST, we need the phone to be turned on and connected via USB cable to the PC, right?

To locust and cube
Please help, I have already managed to copy all the tones back to my phone. I have already done several phone reboot but still could not get into customizing my ringing tone...
I also want to know how did "locust" do the item #2 on his post "~2)set those original .mid .imy .mp3 attributes to system and set the rtflicker.mid to hidden." I have no idea on how to set .mid, .imy and .mp3 attributes to system and the rtflicker.mid to hidden. Should I use P2K Advance Editor to do these stuff or is there any other tool to be used instead? And how shall I do it? Please help.
Thanks a lot guys... you always do a great job sharing your ideas on this forum!
Many thanks,
cmjay

I have found a way to enable back my ring style, customize it and get the tone ringing when receiving call and message.
Get your backup:
1)upload back the original ringtone .imy .mid .mp3(stay the name as ~Alert....dont change it) and your .db and .bas file to /audio.
2)set those original .mid .imy .mp3 attributes to system and set the rtflicker.mid to hidden.
3)after that you will see the ~Alert....is changed to their default name like Chime High,Clubland... on your Multimedia/Sound(on ur mobile not the p2ktools).if you dont see it reboot ur phone.
4)try to see if the ring style is accessible,if no do the master clear and reboot.now you will have access to ring style and customize your tone.
5)if your mobile doesn't has any sound,upload your gain_table.bin under /a with p2ktools.
i hav tried this few times and it works.i dont have to send back to service :D . hope you guys get it works.

Hi All.
My Phone is fixed! Well actually, after I reloaded all the default tones, it fixed itself. But I had to restart the phone a couple of times for it all to take effect.
Oh by the way, there are different rythm patterns available for this phone. The one idicated on this forum is not the same as the one on the russian site with the file backup. There is also a third, but it works incorrectly. The best one (russian site - motorola.100gsm.com, as given in forum) has a size of about 1KB, whereas the other link on this forum directs you to a funpat that is 6KB in size if I am not mistaken. That file has different parterns but they are all the same. The 1KB file has different patterns and they make the lights flicker in different sequences.
Don't know if anyone noticed this, just commenting...
Oh,If anyone has a list of the default tone names, please them to me. I don't need to know which one goes with which tone.
Thanx again to all.
Greetz

c380 does support video. As default this function is disabled, but with program pk2tools (not pk2man) you can enable it.
