Here is a message I just sent to Motorola:
Hello,
I recently put my faith in Motorola and decided it was time to upgrade my trusty old phillips mobile phone to a new 2004 model with all the latest gadgets like camera, midi, games etc.
I was glad to find Motorola were offering a feature packed phone - the C550 which I picked up here in Australia for $AU 150. On the way home I purchased a USB cable to upload my new photos that I planned to take to my PC. Well that's when the nightmare began. I had no clue that you wouldn't even bother to supply software to your loyal customers who have forked out hard earned money for this phone and in 2004 it's expected that a company would supply software so customers can transfer data between their PC and not have to rely on internet connections and slow transfers and not to mention the costs.
I have browsed the web and looked in every corner and I have come to a conclusion that you have lost thousands of customers now due to your snubbing tactics on supplying your customers with proper support and software. I have spent a day reading translated Spanish websites trying to understand how to transfer files and upload games. I have decided that I will go and buy myself a proper mobile phone tomorrow and get my self a Sony Erricson 700i which has proper software and support available and I will never buy another Motorola mobile phone ever again and I'm sure many other people that have had a similar experience won't either.

I would rather but a few hundred dollors etra for a phone that has a solid english speaking community behind it and I've spent a day trying to translate spanish websites which are the only ones that have any info for this phone. the se 700i has much better camera, video, mp3, fm radio and costs about 3 times as much but I'm going to get a headache if I have to read any more spanish websites. Its a shame as the phone is very good for the price but if it has no support in english then it's basicaly useless. I can't find any games either @ 98x95pixels so tommorow I will get my self a new 700i & dump this motorala

hi phil,
you can use a program called miday from motclub.com apparently but I have tried to upload games but I had no luck.
Regarding my problem, I have managed to upload pictures & audio but I still can't get my camera or games to work so I will take it back to the shop. I might exchange it for a sony errisson 700i

i was wonderin, i got all the p2k stuff workin and can download pics and ringtones to my phone but i want to know where to download the games to from p2kman, i have a lot of games for motorola and i need to see which can work with my phone but i dont know where to download them to someone plz help :) cheers

I also found that I don't have any games or MotoMidi sounds anymore etc and when I used the software to delete the pictures it has deleted everything.

Hi there, I managed to download the correct drivers as outlined on previous page. I then managed to download all the default pics from the phone and then I deleted all the pics on the phone. I then turned on the camera & tried to take a phot but my phone crashed and I had to take the battery out for a second to restart it. I tried over & over to take a pic but the same thing happened. I then tried to upload all the pics I stored on my PC but they didn't show up on the phone. I'm unsure what to do & i have had the phone for only one day, if I take it back then they might not replace it since I deleted all the pics? I also noticed before this happened that the photo's I took were unviewable even on my PC but they looked liked a big mess of pixels? Whats happening, I would appreciate any tips.

thanks castel86@hotmail.com,The P2K man works only in winxp.all friends try his idea.you can now do what ever u want... cooool.....i finally sucess to do it.

i have downloaded the p2k drivers and softwares but when i run p2kman.exe it says that"failed to find P2K device" what a great problem.i have installed all drivers and softwares but p2k man didnot work why?.is P2k for winxp only? please helpme to find solution ok!

i managed to get things working with p2kman but the ringtones that i put on it dont work they say unidentified sound or something, i was wandering if any1 has any ringtones that work with moto c550 and if they do please provide the link or send them to my email

i got a problem in nepal i use prepaid mobile service.when i dial 1414 the system answers and call to press 1 to recharge and 2 to hear balance.but when i press 1 or 2 the system do not answer any thing .what a big problem for me.please help me to find it's solution

hi i used pst to put some ringtones onto my phone but they arent anywhere on my phone, i searched evrywhere on my phone but cant find them, does any1 hav any reasons why?
also i used p2kman but when i click on update list it says
Receiving file list...USB: IO Time-out!
CMD: Data write fail!
Fail!
and when i try and click on phone to pc it says
Fail: cannot get vol info
can someone please help me

Can any1 has codes to increase the earphone volume as the phones volume is tooo looow...

Just though I’d write a little guide for win XP cannot comment about other OS’s to help people connect to there C550’s Step 1) Get the cable which is just a bog standard mini USB cable (the one that most digital camera’s use) it will cost about £4.00 from any half decent P.C shop Step 2) Get the correct software & drivers P2K USB drivers & the P2KMAN software…..Both are available here…www.motclub.com its Spanish but very easy to choose programs from the left hand side bar which leads you to the download page. Step 3) Install the drivers……..Plug your phone in once windows dialog box appears asking for drivers choose advanced and point it to the unzipped P2K USB drivers…Next launch the exe from P2KMAN a dialog box will appear saying unable to connect that’s ok, when XP asks for the drivers point it to the unzipped P2KMAN folder it will install about 5 different items individually, once everything’s installed ok launch P2KMAN exe. Step 4) Using the software…….P2KMAN isn’t the most beautiful looking GUI but it does the job to download pictures look in the explorer bar on the right /a/mobile/pictures/ click on the picture you want to download then click yep you’ve guessed it download save it where ever you like, to upload a picture in the rectangle text box on the bottom left type “/a/mobile/picture/” then press upload choose picture gif or jpeg that’s it picture’s are very easy to manage……Now ringtones are just as easy but require a little more tweaking to get them to set as you actual ringtone….type “/a/mobile/audio/” choose upload select required midi file & the tone will appear in sounds but will not be audioable as ringtone, this is because the C550 uses a data base file to manage ringtones & just because you have just stuck the file in the right place it doe’snt been that all the internal links/commands are correct…So what you have to do delete“/a/mobile/MyToneDB.db” (sounds a little scary but these are the things that need to be done for free ringtones) You can download your original database file if you like before deleting but there is no need you phone will create a new one upon reset. Once you’ve deleted the MyToneDB.db you’ll have to reset your phone either buy turning it of for a while or which I prefer remove battery for about 2 minutes then replace your phone will now have rebuild you MyToneDB.db to include your ringtones so they will now work as your ringer. this is a fone with a good price....can users pls tell me if its good for value evn tho cheap?...is the color quality crap?..the camera quality crap? does it hang...does it not recieve calls wen its suppose to? or messages?..

I can say frankly, The only one thing encoureged me to buy this misrouble mobile, was the camera, and now I bought the USB cable but, ! it seemed very difficult to find the drive, if any one can help me? thanks in advance, munem59@yahoo.com
