Motorola confirms April 16 event for Edge 50 series announcement

Motorola will finally unveil its Edge 50 series in full on April 16. The company went live with a teaser on X for the unveil, tagged 'Intelligence Meets Art'.

The event will likely bring a trio of Edge 50 smartphones. The first member already debuted in India - the Edge 50 Pro - and was just confirmed to be coming to Europe on April 16. Here are its specs highlights - a 6.7-inch 144Hz OLED, triple camera (50MP 1x, 10MP 3x, 13MP ultrawide), Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and a 4,500mAh battery with 125W wired, and 50W wireless charging.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro will cost €699.

The other is the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion - a step-down, specs-wise - a 6.7-inch display, 5,000mAh battery with 68W charging, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, and a dual rear camera. It's expected to cost around $300, or INR 25,000.

Finally, expect the flagship of the series - the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 - a 'lite' version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 . The cameras are the best here - all 50MP, a wide, 12mm ultrawide, and 72mm 3x periscope zoom. Upfront, it will feature a 6.7-inch OLED with 165Hz refresh rate.

The Edge 50 Ultra could be called the Motorola Edge+ 2024 or Edge Ultra 2024 in the States and cost $999.
