This has been a great phone, everyone in my household has been using it for quite a few years. The shatterproof screen combined with an otterbox commuter has prevented my husband from destroying them by repeatedly dropping them and getting them run over by cars. The camera was great when we started and still quite acceptable now, sound quality has been fairly good and the speaker is loud enough for me to hear callers without having to hold the phone against my head. The battery was more than adequate for our needs for years. The microSD card slot has been a godsend, as husband is an artist and he has TONS of pictures on the SD card.
The first few had issues with the USB port working its way loose; we could work around that with the wireless charging and wifi-based file transfer (I prefer to back up to the PC rather than the cloud), but it was a bother, and once the battery was no longer fresh, wireless charging wasn't always fast enough to keep up with battery drain. The big recurring problem (other than my husband continually losing his phones, which I finally resolved with the Life360 tracking app - we've recovered his phone a half dozen times, including getting it back from people who had picked it up from wherever he had left it) is that eventually the battery dies, and it's buried so deep under all of the other components that it's cheaper to replace the phone than to replace the battery. Also, we've been accumulating more and more apps, and it seems SOMEthing is always communicating on the network. Between the phone heating up when the battery is on its way out and when charging it while using it at the same time, the high volume of network traffic despite turning off everything that we can, and the sheer number of apps running at the same time, I think we're just overloading the phones now, and they run slowly and unreliably (partially ameliorated by putting the phone on a frozen gel pack BTW). And the replacement phones aren't lasting as long as they used to, perhaps because of new-old stock batteries.
Finally, my preferred tracker app and my banking app are no longer compatible with Android 7. I extracted the apk from the tracker app and can still use it, but the bank app has to be up to date for me to do mobile deposits.
So I'm finally in the market for a newer phone. :-(
Hope I can find another phone I like as well, for a reasonable price (Droid Turbo 2 was $600 reduced to $300 from Verizon when we got our first one; for the past several years I've been paying a little over $100 each). Main criteria are SD card slot, battery life, indestructible, decent camera, loudspeaker, reasonably quick charging, reasonable sound quality (especially for voice).

I Absolutely LOVE everything about my Droid Turbo 2. Have had it since it first came out almost 6 years. Runs fast and smooth. Fits hand properly. Battery lasts all day. UNBREAKABLE!! Trust me I have dropped mine more than once. I cant say enough good about this phone. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
