Motorola E1120

The Motorola E1120 is a 3G phone with a 3 megapixel digital camera, slated for launch in the fourth quarter of 2005. Except, with Motorola's recent history of not being able to get products to market, we do wonder when.. or indeed if.. it will actually see the light of day.
From the product images supplied, it's clear that Motorola haven't even got a prototype available. Clearly computer-generated and lacking detail, it seems at the moment that the E1120 is still on the drawing board, so Motorola's competitors can probably breathe more easily.
Details are sketchy, but Motorola say that the E1120 comes with Windows Media Player, so presumably this is a Windows smartphone. Other information is a little scarce - the E1120 takes TransFlash memory up to a maximum of 512Mb, it has MP3 playback through dual speakers with "3D stereo audio", a 3D graphics accelerator for gaming, video capture and all the usual stuff.
The camera has 8X digital zoom and autofocus, plus a 30 Lux lamp for illuminating stills photos or videos.
Size and weight are not specified, nor is screen size, battery life or a whole host of other features. As we said, clearly the E1120 is some way off and we suspect that Motorola's announcement during the 3GSM show is purely a spoiler designed to attract attention. Given Motorola's history of slippage with release dates, it could be well into 2006 before we actually see this handset - assuming we ever do.

Sleek design, even though "borrowed" from Siemens, this phone has pretty much everything one could want.
The resolution of 320 x 240 is a huge step forward for Motorola. Screen quality matters. Let's just hope that the Camera has some quality, because 3Mpx don't mean anything if you can't see what's in the picture.
IMPORTANT UPDATES:
- The E1120 will not be avaliable until Q4'05

Transflash are a good small memory card, The menus are very easy to understand i have no issues twith them. (maybe you are just used to nokia or other pohones menus) Also you can buy a FM headset for around £20 or AUD$55

To Saj,
50mm in width is already very wide for a phone. Do you know what you are talking about or are you just being sarcastic?!

I want to buy this phone but i cannot understand why moto has put this stupid transflash memory and why in a phone with such great specs it doesn't add any Fm.
Lastly does anyone believe that motorola has nice menus.

This phone is great but:
1. Does the 3G data communication can automatic fall to EDGE if line / network is drop?
2. Do they used optical zoom also? Like N6630 that have 6X Zoom?
3. Another important things should be WiFi capabilities rather than Barcode Scan, in many supermarket already have special barcode scan in their store to make people know the price of goods, and we are not CIA also, then why bother with the scanner. Better Moto swap the barcode scanner with WiFi capabilities.
4. GPS is good but I also need radio, why many big brand sometimes forget this facilities in their advance phone?
But my point when buy next 3G phone is on the point 1 & 2 and 4. So if have to buy now maybe I still preffered N6630 except Moto can supply this 3 features maybe I will by Moto again like in the past.

3mp... this should be great.
some1 said earlier that Motorola needs to fix their camera quality, but I used E1000 and the quality was quiet good - the quality lie somewhere between SE S700 and a V800 I think.
however, t-flash is really annoying when the whole world are using SD card.
Multimedia must rocks! It was already very good with E1000.
I'm gonna buy it when it comes out to replace my E1000 :D.. and get rid of my Digital camera

Love the way this phone looks! I don't really think it was copied from the SX1...well, it could've been, but at least the alphanumeric keys are normal.

This is a copy cat of the Siemens SX1, but this is much improved by Motorola. This should be a nice phone.

Sleek looking phone with great spec and one of the best cameras available at the moment. Motorola should start using the MMC or SD cards instead of Transflash though. Overall: 9/10!!!
