Yolopunch, 28 Dec 2021What's up with people still into headphone jacks? Lol ... moreBluetooth is nice, but NOT a replacement for the headphone jack. The jack offers higher quality audio, no delay, and I can use my same wired headphones from 10 years ago instead of having to buy a new set because the battery life lessens over time.

Nice phone, but noticed everytime I turn the phone on and enter my pin, the phone takes 8-10 seconds to come ready. Any idea why that is? Also have issues with no edge on the screen. I always pick it up and the phone either opens an app or starts dialing a phone number in my addressbook! Usually very annoying.

This phone is fantastic, Motorola has done it by combining the best of both worlds (Technology Of The New, and Reliability Of The Old). By far, this is the best Motorola phone I've owned. Go Moto. 👍

RandyRiffin, 23 Jan 2022They will be complaining about it until the end of time.Because it is a base feature that they have no reason for removing other than copying Apple who only removed theirs to make money licensing their proprietary port.
And don't say it's a waterproofing issue because it is not and people don't want their phones so thin it can't fit.

Personally, really enjoy this phone... regardless of the sub-6G speeds of the 5G bands it comes with. Verizon is the only carrier available here in the Appalachia boonies... As is the cell reception you'll get after a 20 minute drive to civilization. So all in all. The 5G speed isn't bad; no microSD__; no headphone jack**; usb-C 2.0 instead of 3.0. It does have: huge battery, 144hz LCD with HDR10+ and it's nearly 100% stock Android 11 [Android 12 rolling out in Feb to the '5G UW' models as well]
I can't complain though, I haven't had a mid-tier phone since 2014. So yea, the WiFi calling and texts are a godsend after 20 years of being locked out of my steam guard and countless atrocities to mankind with no reception.

For those posting about the loss of features (no headphone connection, no microsd for expanding storage) I ended up with the Verizon 5G UW version of this device plus a pair of Motorola Verve 800 wireless in ear headphones for about $500. While you may think of better deals than that, I am stuck with Verizon due to requiring their network coverage where I live, so that much for the phone and the in ear headphones is not too bad. Of course Lenovo is following the same trend as other device manufacturers for their Motorola phones of not including a wall charger for "environmental reasons" so all I have is a type-c cable and sim tray tool, good thing I still have my Pixel 3a wall charger and adapter.
The headphone connection, the excuse is better IPX rating, when it is just to sell in ear bluetooth headphones like the ones being delivered to me soon. Using bluetooth is not really an alternative when you have to buy a 3.5mm to type-C adapter when the headphone battery runs out for the over ear bluetooth headphones that still give a wired option. Its just more unnecessary things to carry because of feature removal to sell accessories.
The microsd removal doesn't make sense beyond not wanting to give us the updated SD spec of supporting those faster V90 microsdxc cards, because that would be a good reason for us to buy a cheaper low capacity device and a large capacity V90 microsd card which device makers give us a lot of storage internally now, but it was not always the case when flagships had only 16, 32 and 64GB of storage maximum. Yes, I know microsd no matter V90 or less, is slower than internal storage, but it is storage separate from the internal nand. Someone told me I should just carry a 256GB (matching the phones storage amount) Type-C flash drive as an alternative option, but such a solution is impractical compared to a simple 256GB microsd card.
I hope I can use OpenCamera to get this device to do 4K 60fps because with those specs, it should be able to do that. My old 2018 OnePlus 6T could do 4K 60fps with a Snapdragon 845.
Other than that, without that bundle I would have chosen a Pixel device because I do like the software updates directly from Google.
