Accorging to GeekBench 5 778G is better in both single and multi-core score.
AnTuTu says the same - score 527254 (778G) vs 419783 (855). Numbers speak for themselves.
778G also has better instruction set architecture.
What is more there is much better LPDDR5 (778G) vs older LPDDR4x (855).
Please check facts first. No way that 778G is worse then 855 which is 2 and half year old.
By the way, flagship 8__ series usually have overheating issues and have high power consumption, so they are not always the best solution.
Mid-range 7__ series are reliable all-rounders and are satisfactory for most users.

Sorry, but where in the galaxy is SD 778G (6 nm) with advanced AI which boosts cameras slower then old 855 (7 nm)?

All this has going for it is the display and cameras. Though even the cameras aren't perfect due to the slow SoC. Which is one of the many reasons why the SoC matters.

i have a moto g7 that has gorilla glass 3. one drop from about 1 ft in height onto ceramic tiling and instant diagonal crack from top to side.
it still works fine, but gorilla glass is more like "grasshopper glass." chitin (skin on insects) is really strong, but not strong enough to stop my foot from crushing it. likewise, the glass here might be strong, but not strong enough to stop a drop.

Also more conservative on the battery life

Overall a good mobile, but lack of hardware.
Make the back with glass.. It will be more durable and gives a smooth in hand feel.

Only 4000 mah battery on this 6,7 screen and a hungry processor, it won't last the day not even on normal usage.

The SD 778 seems to battery efficient and it may not need a big battery. The Moto z play that came with 3500 mah had a nice battery life, thanks to the battery efficient 625 processor.

And it looks like designed for really good overall experience, less toward gaming.
