Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is now receiving the Android 16 update
Motorola is continuing its rollout of Android 16 to older devices, and today the update has started to arrive on Edge 50 Ultra units. The update is currently going out to Edge 50 Ultra devices bought in Brazil.

It arrives over-the-air with firmware version W1UV36H.61-15 as a 1.64GB download. As always with such updates, the rollout is most likely staged, so it might take a few days for it to reach all of the Edge 50 Ultra units in Brazil.
After that, it will hopefully spread to more regions. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra launched last year running Android 14, and was updated to Android 15 in the meantime. It will get Android 17 too, but no more major Android updates after that. It will, however, receive security patches until April 2028.
