Motorola Edge 50 Ultra renders leak showing periscope zoom camera
Following the recent leaks of Motorola's Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion, today the trio of upcoming devices is completed by a leak of the Edge 50 Ultra, the top of the line model in the range.
The Edge 50 Pro is getting official on April 3, and the Edge 50 Fusion might join it according to the latest rumors on the matter. Interestingly, the Edge 50 Ultra renders you can see below have an April 3 date on the screen as well, just like the others. This could mean all three devices are set to be introduced next week. However, April 3 is next Wednesday, and these renders say "Tue Apr 3" so perhaps a pinch of salt is required nevertheless.
The Edge 50 Ultra is said to use the just unveiled Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which is basically a 'lite' version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launched last year. The Edge 50 Ultra will have three cameras on the rear, all of them 50 MP, with a 12mm ultrawide and a 72mm periscope that will probably be advertised as having 3x optical zoom.
The setup also sports laser autofocus and a multiple-LED flash. The phone will arrive in three colors, a light beige, a black, and Peach Fuzz. The black model seems to employ a fake leather finish, and the Peach Fuzz one might go the same route. The light beige version, on the other hand, comes with a continuous finish throughout the back that seamlessly blends into the raised camera island.
The handset has a touchscreen with curved sides. The Edge 50 Ultra is going to debut Motorola's new Android skin called Hello UI, which will come with a promise of three major Android updates. Apparently, the Edge 50 Ultra should cost $999 - in the US it's very likely to be rebranded as Motorola Edge+ 2024 or Edge Ultra 2024, by the way.
