Sorry Richard
I messed up KRZR K1 with RIZR's price tag, which is currently selling for over $1500, for being exclusive.
actually I was not comparing KAZR K1 with 8800..some people did including you in the begining. So I was wondering why. There should NOT be any comrasion at all.Cheers!!

Also...all you people saying this phone or other is a "piece of crap" are making me laugh. No disrespect intended, but I know that every single one of you would take that same 'crap' phone if it were a gift, or if you didn't have to pay for it.
If I'm wrong, then I apologize....if I'm right, well then your definition of "crap" might need to change a bit eh? :^)

Once again you guys are insulting each other for no good reason.
Nowadays, a phone is not just a communication device...its a fashion accessory. Its also another way people reflect their own personal tastes and styles. Being seen using a specific phone is now right up there with pulling up to the velvet robe in the slickest new luxury car.
For those who are more practical and frugal out there. Or for those who just can't afford the fancy stuff and make themselves feel better by putting people down. I say..."get a grip". If you like it and you can afford it, then you should buy it. Life is too short.
My girl's in HK right now and she asked if she should pick up the KRZR K1 or the Samsung D830 for me. I'm leaning towards the Motorola simply because its flashier...and I already have a few other phones. My favorite these days the Samsung X820 and I've been using it for a few months now.
I think its a pure work of art and if you seen it, held it and used it. I think you would agree too. That's one of the best phones in the world right now...period!
I also just ordered a D900 from thatcoolstore on Friday. Should be here tomorrow. Why? Because I like cool things and they make me happy. If you have a problem with that, you probably should ask yourself what your own problem is...why should you care what I do with my own cash? Better go make yours, so you can buy what you want :^)

Yes man, maybe 8800 is a piece of crap but it isnt for the masses... too expensive, in comparisson in the past RAZR and now KRZR are intended to be a bestseller. I think that samsung has better phones in the fashionable field (feature wise), very good camera with better UI (moto... motorola! always with this flaw)
The problem with samsung is the design, they has a lot of phones with the same style, in top line, mid-range and low-end phones.
I think that KRZR will be a success like his predecesor, no one phone has this design, something diferent and i think nokias l´amour can not compete with this phone. The problem is: In a few months a lot of people have this phone... you too... lose exclusivity, the same case with RAZR. Finally you will bored with KRZR

don't be so naive. the KRZR K1 can be had for $400-$500 depending on where you shop. the price will fall much in the coming months, going for the price of a v3i shortly as demand rises.
you compare that to the purposely inflated 8800 series? you're comparing this to a triband phone with less features, less battery life and arguably less style that can't be purchase for less than ----$1,000.00---- at the moment? the price will barely fall by the time moto is replacing the krzr with their next flagship.
there is no comparison. to pay extra a hundred dollars extra for some stylish exclusivity is no problem. to give nokia probably $800 in profit for a weak piece of crap phone is major difference!!!

@Richard
I think he refered to "motorola" and not "Nokia".
By the way I just reliased the similarities betwwen the KRZR K1 and 8800S..both have great consturction and nice looks and a rediclusios price tag that doesnt suite their outdated features. No offence but that is so true.

"Goodness. It's another one of those overpriced phones by Nokia.
For posers and fashionista wannabes..."
this is comments for the motorola krzr k1, not the nokia 8800se. you can click on nokia from the list to your left in the upper right hand corner to find the correct phone.

@TRZp
What is comfortable what is not depends on many factors. People are ready to compromise on comfort level if the phone looks great and has good features. RAZR sold over 50m even with all its glitches. Thats an example.
With narrow phones you cant have a great display..you have 176x220. Samsung phones are NOT wide..they have same width as other normal phones with 240x320 QVGA screen in the market. They are just getting thinner and thinner. One can choose the one that feels comfortable to hold. Would you say the new RAZR maxx is wide? that is same 53m wide. Those phones are meant for multimedia..where as KRZR K1 is a pure fashion phone with nice look and finish.

..Well.hello..mates.. indeed this phone looks great!!! and it will be very aprecciate for much time..but i definitly don't think is the best outthere,,so check te sansung X 820... for who's like lines and disigns.. and definitly dont think motorola can beat to nokia in features in any way..can be "blocky"?? maybe it is true.. most ppls like feel confortable and get easys gadgets..but also other more really enyoy to get "more sofisticates" phones, and OS symbian is so far the most used in the world.. but i really like the windows mobile Os,, but stil is a fact so,, ... so why the appasionate debate about it??? Anyway i wanted to say it is a great phone..!!

This phone is very comfortable........very much the opposite of those thin & wide Samsung.
Since Motorola start the successful thin phone trend with the RAZA design, Samsung follows & try to get a part of the market share........but failed because of ugly & uncomfortable designs!!! Now that Motorola realize the fault of the V3 line up(too wide & hence uncomfortable to hold), is coming out with a comfortable to hold phone which is 2mm thicker but a lot narrower.
Let's wait and see.......in a very short time, Samsung will follow this Motorola trend!!!

10 times better looking than any Samsung phone models you care to name........
Good look is the first piority of most phone buyers.
Who care about functions? As long as the phone has adequate functions; that's fine with most people. There's so many new techonology everyday, how can we catch up? Keep on changing phones everytime a manufacturer announces a new phone with higher spec. techonology???

This would have been a great phone if it was released a year ago. But with every phone on the market spotting a minimum of 2.0MP and a 262K colours screen, this phone to me is lacklustre.
As for super thin phones, the Ultra Series from Samsung seem to boast of more impressive specs for lesser price.
Unless you STILL love the Moto Razr design, go grab it.

moto phs do not impress me. V3i resolution is poorer than my samsung card ph P300. camera always lousy . I tried V3i. don't know abt this krzr. UI is not my type.
this ph design is great anyway, but its not too small. its longer and a bit thicker than V3i as to compensate width.
anyway, I may buy this ph as moto sell their ph like cheap toys in sg. :) can use 1 year and throw away.

"and your motoroal will probably cause u cancer because of the high SAR!!! the moto L7 have 1.58!!!!!! in america the limit its 1.6 its barely passed!"
my goodness, is this all you can respond with? these asinine things? you nokia fanboys have been putting down motorola based on these ridiculous ideas and finally we rise up!! we will take no more!!
for every study that says cell phone radiation may cause cancer, there are two more which refute the idea! where is the first case of a person being sick from motorola high sar rated phone? if that were the case, moto's dead in the water! nobody would ever touch a razr or slvr or pebl!.....
"when people get sick of razr moto that its already happening razr sales are dropping so will motorola"
...instead the exact opposite is happening as motorola takes marketshare from nokia month after month due to global acceptance of the great razr phone!
http://www.smartmoney.com/onedaywonder/index.cfm?story=20060720&src=fb&nav=RSS20
sales have only increased! moto sold the 50 millionth RAZR in july and should likely be at 60 million by now. so you're wrong on both accounts!
to the person who speaks on price of the krzr, yes it is expensive now due to exclusivity of being the first. this happens with every good. but unlike nokia, when sales increase, motorola drops the price! there is no reason to maintain high resale value of a phone! how many people keep their phone pristine enough to be sold on ebay? the majority end up in the trashcan!
motorola doesn't purposely inflate phones for high profits, ripping off the customers. they get them as cheap as humanly possible. now that's how you do business! if moto wanted to, they could've kept the razr at $400 and kept it high fashion phone. instead they wanted the world to have it! nokia only does this for their cheap 6XXX little candybars. moto has changed the game!
if you want higher powered, you wait for hsdpa razr maxx. if you want something even higher, you go for linux smartphones such as a1200 MING or E680i (pictures of its much thinner successor E690 have surfaced: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/cellphones/leaked-motorola-loves-linux--e690-pda-phone-199607.php). or wait for the Q gsm with hsdpa and wifi. you need something with even more functions? go ahead for n-series bricks. but moto has most of us, who use phones to make -phone calls- covered.
majority of people want slim and simple not chunky and complicated. unfortunately nokia was late to the party with their chunky blocks just when the industry was changing. now i bet they'll come announcing razr like simple slim phones by the end of the year.
