The K3 is by far one of the best Motorola handsets I have used, rivalled only by the newer Z6. The speed of the interface, the clarity of the screen and the sheer prettyness of the handset itself make it an excellent product.

The major downside to this product is the shinyness of the outside and in... like most of the newer motorola phones, it's a fingerprint magnet, and you'll be continuously cleaning it with shirt or whatever is handy.

Compared to the K1, this is a huge step forward in usability and speed. There is very little to no noticable lag when doing anything on this handset, compared to the slowness of navigating through the K1.

This phone has the standard V-series menu layout, so using it compared to any other current model is close to identical.

The connection suite does leave a little to be desired, as PC connectivity via MPT is always a bit on the other side of possible. Numerous problems also exist with syncing with Vista.

The media player is the best to be found in a motorola handset, obviously not comparitive to the SE Walkman functionality, but still quite bearable. It now can display by artist, album, composer and various other organisational schemes.

All in all, a wonderful phone, let down only slightly by a sometimes substandard connectivity suite, and always susceptible to fingerprints.

    87/100

Yes, the ouside screen can be used with that purpose. The inner cammera works for self portraits as well, so it's up to your choice.

This phone runs Synergy, IMHO on par with Juix.. And it's able of fullscreen pics either take or see them, and fullscreen video playback. Recording takes up most of the screen, not fullscreen though.

Nope, it's not autofocus, but still takes decent pics if you know how to use it.

Great phone, weeks later and I haven't got a complain.

Can the outside screen be used to take self-portraits? If not, can the camera on the inside be used for that?

As far as I know, only the Motorola's OS "JUIX" is capable of fullscreen. The MOTOROKR E2 has it and I'm totally positive that they will be including it on more phones in the future.

If the K3 can be modified to shoot mp4, can the same be done on any samsungs? Is it an easy process to modify for mp4 on the K3? (i am seriously considering buying this phone!!)

Samsung user.. texting is much better.. I have D900 but I can stand it hehe.

Video comes out in 3GP but you can modify the phone to deliver mp4 directly.

This phone is VERY loud AND crystal clear.. no distortion at all if you deactivate what I told earlier

Can anyone who owns this phone rate the loudness of the ringers? also, with me being a samsung user, i use T9 for texting. Is it the same for Moto's K3? Does this phone have a flash for the camera? (not that they really help anyway)

Uh I forgot to mention one of its strong points.. Music. Handling files is a breeze, fastest browsing than any moto out there (and other brands but I won't go there because of the haters)
Quality through HT headsets is amazing, won't crack won't overbass... perfect.
If you are keen on using the onboard speaker you'll be VERY pleased, the audio coming out of it is crystal clear, trust me. Better than any other phone, better than E1 wich had two onboard speakers.

For those experiencing cracking issues, be sure to deactivate Audio Spatiation and Bass Booster, then you'll know what I'm talking about.

Now activate those two for headset purposes, it is a must.

Many of you might now already, but by pressing smart key with the flip closed, you'll be taken to a list of songs that you can browse using volume up/down keys.

I got this phone a week ago and it is AWESOME. Plain and simply beautiful, incredibly well built, sleek, a solid feel to it. It is worth every euro or dollar you spend for it.

Regarding some of your doubts, the internal camera works just as the external, you can take self pics (wich is the only purpose I have for it since I don't get 3G coverage), you can also take video and have fun with it. You even can make fun videos because camera will switch with the press of * between internal and external :-D

Phone supports bluetooth profiles such as A2DP for wireless music experience, but as any other moto it is not friendly if you want to send such as text messages, phonebook contacts yes. But no fear, if you're really keen on bluettoth messaging you can always use a Java app. to do so.

UI is even faster than v3xx , v6 , and those are pretty darn fast.

Color of the phone is gorgeus, it changes depending on the light that hits it. It varies from grey, to silvery gray, to golden siver, you'll be very pleased. Pics over the net do NOT do it justice. At all. Period.

I absolutely love this phone, I used to have a v3xx but this feels 10x better in hand.

About texting I assure you , you WONT outspeed it hehehe.. I write pretty fast and I'm on par with the phone, iTap is renewed and very easy to use, automatic word filling is a bliss.

Overall get this, do not fear the v9 because I'm sure this one is on par with it (or even better because of the size issues many complain about since the release of the RAZR v3) This phone size is perfect and the 2'' screen is sharper and crispier than any other.

Woah quite extensive comment, anyway that is how you know how strongly I feel about the goodness this phone represents.
