Fred R, 02 Feb 2010Beware of this phone and manufacturer support. There are ma... moreSorry to hear your unpleasant experience, though for the camera bug, did you upgrade your OS to Android 2.0.1, which is supposed to fix the problem?
I know Moto's support worldwide may not meet expectations in some areas, though where I live Moto already promised 2.0.1 would be available after Jan 29 (which is part of the reasons why I waited for over a month), and it also announced the phone will be upgraded to Android 2.1 around mid-Mar.
Not sure about your voice search problem, as I thought it supports English only. (certainly doesn't do Chinese)

Beware of this phone and manufacturer support. There are many, many serious problems with the Milestone; I should know, I bought two of them! One is the German version for my Son's Christmas present, the other one is UK. Both sets share the useless camera bug, mounting via USB bug, crippled Market, but most of all the German model is missing Voice Search. This is very disturbing since even the picture on the box advertises it. The forums are full of extremely angry people and there is even a petition now calling for a class action law suit. I don't mean to vent and throw mud here, just a strong warning against buying an expensive phone only to be disappointed and possible mislead.

I'm getting ready to get my Milestone, coz where I live Moto is offering a special, with purchase between Feb 3-25, owner can bring the receipt and get the docking - free of charge! (value at about US$37)
I'll join a US$17 plan (18 months contract), US$128 prepaid, and handset price gets down to US$305. (vs. US$600 for the handset only price)

moto phone are realy best quality and material and excellent assemble
i myself use 2years and alittle more z8 and this is realy healthy after these years
but my sister n70 get damage after 1 year and all her phone case is pallid and my other friend that use k810 too
other my friend has famous v3x for 3-4 years
yes 3-4 years
and it worked very well today but anyway the case is pallid but camera and other features work very well
now look at milesone or motoroi or other moto phone from best material from metal and compare with other rival that make the high end smartphone with cheap pelastic like n900 or x10 ,x2 and ....

Qwerty keypad - who else can make one at 13.7mm?
3.5mm jack and "charge by micro-USB" - the former is still a stranger among most SE phones, while the latter remains a dream for "new top phones" from the almighty brand like X6.
I do miss radio and front cam. Though how many "smartphones" really offer such features nowadays? Especially Android.
The speed of the processor, if I don't tell u what's inside, can u really tell the difference? Have you ever used the actual unit?

i buy this phone yesterday
my god this is realy great phone and all my friend like it
the quality is unque and the phone is very easy to use and the menu is very nice and attractive
i want keep my milestone in my hands cause the feeling is great and thanks for great material and use metal instead cheap pelastic
the game player in 3.7" capacitive screen is realy sensational game player is even beter than my iphone
this is realy dynamic phone the cpu is too fast and multi task realy
like iphone pinch zoom is very very good for internet working and in pictures gallery
milestone is realy goooood phone and im very happy for this Purchase and very thankful from moto
and hope to see milestone 2 / droid 2 , very soon
