alex, 20 Nov 2009What's different between milestone and droid features??both hv GPS but droid has google naviation whereas milestone doesnt. it comes with motonav until google fix it. droid comes or was supposed to come with 16gb card whereas milestone comes with 8gb. however, milestone supports multitouch gestures and droid doesnt.

100 Moto, 19 Nov 2009Just because you don't need radio, that doesn't mean others... moreperhaps u didnt understand me. u can get radio from web anyway so no need for the feature. with a phone like this it is likely that u hv an expensive plan which includes lots of internet browsing. u can always connect to the web with ur phone so u can always watch online movies (when android gets flash/2010) and listen to music online.

So I can't see why you wouldn't be able to pay for the "navigation" option. ;)

You are right on the part of Motorolla. The other day I tried the new HTC Touch Diamond 2 & I’ll tell you it was my best experience till date using Winmo 6.5!!! Two distinct features which I liked the most were Handwriting recognition & the lock screen where I could see my upcoming tasks, messages, emails everthing on the main screen!!!

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2009I'm the one that posted the questions about the loose batte... moreI don't really know what to tell you... There are phones especially designed for rough treatmant. But you want a hi-tech phone, and I don't think any of them can take the abuse very well. The only plus I can think of for Moto Droid/Milestone is that it is the only hi-end phone with metal build, all other are plastic, so in that sense it could take a stronger blow and not brake. But screens are always the issue as they are big, and should be taken care of. So, ultimately, I guess any phone with a good armour case will do for you.

Cain, 20 Nov 2009Yes we understand, you don't like this CPU so you won't buy... moreI'm the one that posted the questions about the loose battery cover and wear on the corners.

Every phone I've ever owned ended up severely scratched, dented and dinged. I'm an active person, and am pretty rough with my cell phones. Build quality is very important to me.

I'm currently looking for a new phone, and the droid is one of three I'm considering. Only reason I posted here was to get some feedback on real-world usage, I don't care about which phone is "best", I don't care much about the brands, I don't care which has the fastest processor.

I'm very tempted to purchase the Droid (milestone), but after searching a few forums I found a few complaints about the phone that I was wondering if anyone here had experienced.

First of all, the batter cover on some units are loose, they can actually slip off while in your pocket. From what I read it's an easy fix, but I'm wondering about the quality of the phone now.

Has anyone been using a leather holster type case for this phone? I've read of two cases where there was abnormal wear on the corners of the phone because of the case. (Again, this is a quality issue with the phone).

Lastly, Motorola is working on a fix for the camera of the droid to deal with an issue with the auto-focus, there was an error in the programing.

Motorola has stated that the camera has a waxy coating on it from the factory, cleaning the lens will fix much of the issues everyone is having with it.

alex, 20 Nov 2009What's different between milestone and droid features??Droid has Google navigation, and Milestone has pinch to zoom. But the real difference is in network technology. Droid is for USA networks only, and Milestone is GSM. So if you live in Europe it is only Milestone for you.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Well, first of all Vinny is not a Moto fan. He is going for N900. And you can see that the two of us are not haters, otherwise we would be bashing each other phones. But we get along just fine. I fully respect and understand his wish to buy N900, as I understand that you would like to have X10. No problems there.
After all, I did write a nice post againts bashing X10 in SE forum, and some of your SE friends supported me and congratulated me. But you haven't said a word...
                                        That shows a lot.
