Whats the big deal about having or not having 2.1 Froyo ?
i understand that the update will bring new features to phone over the already existing ones , but this not a reason to hate an entire company (Motorola in this case)
besides : the Droid\Milestone already have an impressive features , hardware & built quality , not as good as the Droid X , but its still a great phone with or without Froyo.
If you don't like Droid\Milestone switch back to a Nokia phone & see how that workout for you !!!
personally i haven't got a MileStone yet (i'll get very soon due to availability issues in my country)

I respect your op... moreHey buddy,I brought milestone because of few reasons:First and foremost,we dont get nexus one in India(Am residing in India),secondly,my observations and going through almost all the comments provided by power users like all we here at gsm and other forums plus reading all the reviews over the net, I came to know that apart from nexus, this is the only phone getting regular updates, so the obivious reason for me to buy this phone and I personally dont have any regrets for purchasing such an OUTSTANDING computer[oops,I meant cellphone :)].Now,that I call them cheaters is because, previously they(moto ppl)advertized this phone as Flash 10.1 ready (While,I was purchasing this phone with android 2.1, I almost knew about Froyo and the ability of Flash in Froyo).SO, I thought that after the release of Froyo, say about 3 to 4 months later the phone should have flash. Now, that I read elsewhere that Froyo is doubtfull on milestone and now that there is no FLASH READY advertizement on their website makes me think that Froyo wont be for milestone and thats what make them cheaters,it is they who advertized it and now that they are not ready to give or live with their promises, so am just tryin to help others to think twice before going to purchase this cellphone.Apart from this I recommend a 100% buy for this phone.

I respect your opinion but let see what will happen after droid 2 release. In fact only nexus have officially froyo. To remend you milestone was the first to be released with 2.0 and updated to 2.0.1 then 2.1 while for example X10 still on 1.6 come on with all those update from moto and for a 2009 phone you call moto cheater? In Q4 2009 moto milestone first device to run android 2.0 and actually 2.1 that what you call cheating? Each company got is strategy and must make money that the truth but only nexus got froyo as google phone. So you may come down and do not make people to beleave to such comment. If you are not happy with your milestone and if you really have it, go and buy a X10 that will receive 2.1 in Q4 when gingerbread 3.0 will be released. PS: tell me if not nexus google device which phone got froyo officially? When you will respond, please forget to mention your name thanks!.

I think it would be nice if this phone supports video call through secondary camera... Video call is going to come in a short while and without secondary camera, this camera does not become worth this cost..

HARMINDER SINGH, 23 Jul 2010my milestone is not getting froyo update !!!!!! thats weir... moreLet talk now moto released droid x with 2.1 and promise froyo in near futur. Droid 2 still in the pipeline and it is confirme it will come with froyo out of the box. Beside we have milestone that can be overclocked to 1 ghz or even 1.2 and run stable. If the beast get froyo before droid x and droid 2 do you think people will buy droid x or droid 2? Do some search some people run hack droid overlocked 1.2 ghz with froyo and even did compare benchmark with droid x running 2.1 and the droid overlocked score better than droid x because of froyo. If you really need froyo, just on google search tape how to install froyo on droid or milestone. Droid life may help you as well many video on youtube showing droid running froyo. Hope this can help. In my opinion you would wait for official froyo update.

Vivek, 23 Jul 2010Is the flash 10.1 update available?Yes flash 10.1 apk(android installer) is available in market place, but it wont work on current 2.1 version of android,You must have android 2.2 for the flash 10.1 to work and unfortunately, milestone may not be upgraded to android 2.2.So,please tell everyone, planning to buy this phone not to buy it as motorola is not customer friendly, the phone should be supportable atleast for a year and motorola seems to be having deaf ears for its customers and they are someone like,do false advertize sell the phone and then forget to keep their promises.

my milestone is not getting froyo update !!!!!!
thats weird, motorola should provide the updates to the milestoners for atleast 1 year. i dont recall customers paying serious attention to motorola devices unless and untill milestone came out unexpectedly. it really showed some positive improvements in the company’s financial results.
and now the company simply ignoring them for major updates? seems like motorola is giving indication to not be a loyal customer.

sold away my milestone after 2 days of use. the metal panel next to the camera got too hot to handle. after a 15mins call, it get hot and hurting the ears.
other that this problem, its a good phone for surfing and social networking but not for calling use.

After seeing a string of midrange devices like the CLIQ XT, Devour, and Flipout go by, we were beginning to wonder when (or if) Motorola would make another grandiose play at the Android crown the same way it had with the Droid the first time around -- but with the introduction of the Droid X, we're happy to say that they finally have. Problem is, this isn't the same marketplace that Moto was dealing with back in late 2009; high-end Android gear is easier to come by than ever before (Samsung's massive four-carrier blowout with the Galaxy S series is powerful evidence of that), and most of it is... well, really quite good. This isn't about taking candy from a baby anymore and waltzing into unmet demand for a type of phone that hadn't existed before -- it's about competing really, really hard. It's about forgetting the Droid's success, just as the company has struggled to forget the RAZR's.

Cast in that light, the Droid X becomes a much less magical phone than the Droid was. It's good, and it's a pretty enjoyable execution of Android 2.1, but it's not a must-have phone -- especially in light of the Droid Incredible and the upcoming Droid 2. From a hardware perspective, this phone is pretty much a bang-on execution of what a high-end mobile powerhouse should be, but Motorola clearly still has work to do in order to play in the same software league as HTC does with Sense. If it can get there -- or heck, if it can just offer this phone with stock Froyo -- you've got perhaps the best Android phone ever

milestone is beter than x10 for qwerty keyboard . android 2.1 against 1.6 , beter quality and assemble , beter lcd quality + multi tuch , for me beter design , beter cpu arm8 & gpu
                                        x10 is beter for camera
