2.tap on quick settings icon on top right.
3.in screen center select the Sim u are using for WhatsApp internet.
4.Data usage tab will open. In that on top right click on three dots.
5.in 'restrict background data' option unselect the box(remove the tick mark)
6. Done :)

Just update my 3 month old Moto E to Lollipop 5.1.
The performance is buttery smooth.Enjoying the lollipop.Motorola rocks.

Because I have one .overall it's a great phone at this price .its performance is its highlight. Camera is not very impressive .but it is butter smooth perfomance. I had it updated to 5.1 lollypop last day Still its working smooth

I had that problem before so gave to the service center and they replaced the board and it was working fine for 6 month . now the same problem coming again. I am going to change the phone because my warranty has expired...

Alright guys here's an honest review
Motorola Moto E is a fantastic phone. You will love everything of it. It has got everything that a shitty Samsung doesn't offer even in the price of 10k. Just not having flash and front cam doesn't suck n if it does for you then better not buy this phone.
Performance is too good. Mind blowing. It comes with KitKat and I would suggest do not upgrade it to lollipop bcz it will affect your phone. Obviously it's not phone's fault. But yet you want material over performance you can upgrade. Buy it. Its worth buying for.

I have been using Moto E 1st Gen for about 6 months now. I updated it to Android 5.0.2 via Soak Test the day after I received the phone. And after my usage for these many days, I have to say Motorola perhaps makes the best quality budget Android phones.
I use my phone dor social networking, listening to songs,watching videos and movies, reading and editing and most importantly for calling. And I have faced no problem in these fields. I also sometimes play games.
Only three cons till date : Firstly, if you press hard on the screen, u will see some mild ripples at the center. This happens with all the Moto E I have seen. And its probably because of the flexible Gorilla glass protection. Secondly, the gap between the bezels are a bit too much which allows a lot to lint and dirt to gather. This happens with a few other sets as well. So I can ignore this cons. But the thired and most important, there are about 3-4 stuck/dead pixels that developed lately. They are not visible until on a pitch black screen with highest brightness. This is my only concern.
All over I rate this phone a pure 4 stars out of 5. A quality phone and perhaps one of the best budget phones. To me, features doesnt matter much. But the quality does. And thats what Motorola provides.
Great job. Keep it up Motorola. I want to see more such phones in the future.

this phone getting restarted frequently quite annoying and lost its signal many times while travelling device space is always low .
better go for windows

I had bought Moto E 1st Gen in may month, good phone battery backup is awesome, camera quality is not good, 2 problem i faced one was it is automatically restart some time and the other is that when i travelled to anywhere the network has been automatically gone, if anyone have some solution then please suggest me............

Moto E 1St gen got Lollipop update .Lower price Smartphone and very low spec. Got Latest Android Lollipop Update.I never heard Any such update in so called big brand Samsung,HTC and Sony or Lg even their Smartphones having all good & higher spec.,but sadly fails to get Android update why If they charge huge money for their Smartphones then the update must be compulsory.Smartphone not only ment for the High mp camera ,Higher PPI,Amoled display and Quardcore,Octacore and Decacore without OS update all spec. are just useless. We hardly get update in Samsung , HTC,Sony and Lg only high end smartphone will going to enjoy Latest update then why they are launching the Smartphone in lower and middle segment.Why...? Please think about it.Before buying Samsung,HTC,Sony and Lg they think we consumers are fool.
