Motorola Moto G100 in for review

Michail, 25 March 2021

The Moto G line keeps growing past the double digit mark. After the G10 and G30 we turn out attention to a more compelling addition - the Moto G100 which serves as the top dog in Motorola’s G lineup. Our review unit just came in so let’s see what it has to offer.

Starting with a quick design overview, the Iridescent Ocean colorway of our unit is undoubtedly flashy and one of the more interesting hues we’ve had at the office. It shifts between blue, green and purple depending on the lighting.

Upfront it’s business as usual with a 6.7-inch IPS LCD and FHD+ resolution. The dual punch hole cutouts take some time to get used to though you get the added benefit of having a 16MP primary selfie shooter as well as an 8 MP ultrawide snapper. Add in a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support and you’re left with a smooth viewing experience.

Going to the internals we find the Snapdragon 870 - a capable chipset offering excellent performance. RAM stands at 8GB and storage is set at 128GB though you can easily pop in a microSD card to expand.

There’s a 64MP primary camera around the back next to a 16MP ultrawide module. The remaining two slots are for the 2MP macro cam and 2MP depth helper. Below them, we have an LED flash and ToF sensor for laser autofocus. Switching to the battery we have a 5,000 mAh cell with 20W fast charging.

The software front is covered by Motorola’s MyUX on top of Android 11. You also get a neat "Ready For" mobile desktop interface similar to Samsung DeX when plugged into an external monitor. Stay tuned for our Moto G100 full review where we'll bring you all the details.
