Motorola probably deliberately do it so you buy their newer model in desperation , either that or their Inept .

Broken Dolby Audio, UI stutter, GPU performance drop, 1080p/60 video stutter and overheating. It all added up to battery performance loss of more than half. Sound familiar? It got worse - there was also a nasty Mali GPU vulnerability that Arm published a patch for which Moto never bothered to implement during the final year of device support. Moto just let it fall into end of life, active vulnerability and all.
Moto being really late with Android 15 on the G35 has me worried that they either cannot compile a stable release for their Unisoc devices, or will go with the G31 strategy and release a broken build and slow walk any fixes until it hits EOL.
Unisoc certified Android 15 for the T760 back in September 2024 so I guess Moto is compiling the update based on that revision of A15 but there is currently a new Mali GPU vulnerability from January which Arm has yet to publish a patch for. Whenever Android 15 does drop, it will do so with a pretty major GPU vulnerability just like the G31 did.

Diff... moreFunnily enough I also bought the G35 over the Nubia because the camera looked better on the Motorola and Nubia never update their phones (but apparently Motorola just break theirs with updates ), plus I wanted a LCD because 99% of amoleds give me headaches .
I actually had a blackview shark 9 which has a T820, and it had a very good battery life and a fantastic signal, but it only had a 90hz hd+ screen which probably helped (camera was truly terrible though).

Difference between 120hz and 60hz is 30% when set to fixed. 5G signal fixed probably adds another 15%. So whatever screen time you average now, theoretically could be 45% higher with those changes.
Users should not be forced to fix the stuff Moto update breaks. I think I will warn people about buying Motorola from now on. I only bought the G35 because of the specs and it's price which I found for $120 in my region. The alternative was the ZTE/Nubia Neo 2 5G which has the 'top of the line' T820. Other than that it has the same exact hardware as the G35 but a little pricier at around $160. I might still buy it just out of curiosity to confirm the issues stem from Moto software

Anonymous, 02 May 2025How does it have 5000mah the same as s24 ultra but mediocre... moreI can only assume that the T760 and the screen are very power hungry.
Years ago I had the Motorola G 5G, it had a 6.8in Lcd (although it only reached around 500 nits brightness) and it was running a Snapdragon 750, overall it's performance was similar to the T760, but I could get around 11hr SOT with that phone.
I actually still have the phone and although the battery not what it was the phone still runs flawlessly (I mostly use it as a 5g wifi hotspot) .

Anonymous, 01 May 2025Thank you for the reply and info!
I'm in the same b... moreYeah the dolby audio bug sucks and the fact that Motorola hasn't sent an update to fix it, is quite poor.
Strangely one of those device info app from play stores says my phones platform is the UMS9620, but then says the Chipsets the Unisoc Tiger T760, so it looks like your correct .
It's nice to know I'm not the only one without android 15, however I saw a YouTube video whereby the reviewer was comparing android 15 on the G35 vs the G34 and how the G35 was so stripped back with less features and animations than the G34's. However he must have had a beta version as Motorola say it hasn't been released for the G35 yet.

I'm in the same boat waiting for Android 15 but with different issues:
January update broke Dolby Audio processing and also deleted most of the stock ringtones on my 4 gig ram G35. I then remembered how playing audio would drain battery at the same rate as gaming. Seems Moto fixed one thing but broke another! I also experience 'ghost scrolling' issues when switching between 120hz and 60hz display option. Oddly enough it does not occur when using the default 'auto' setting. Thankfully, no signal issues to report (for now!).
Reading your reply also makes it clear that my previous hypothesis of the 8 gig variant using a different chipset is wrong. That was info based on a 8 gig ram review unit from Argentina which reported as having the UMS9620. I now think that Moto is implementing legacy code into their updates which might explain the incorrect hardware identification and subsequent hardware issues across the different market variants!

It looks good and that's almost all. It moves slowly, it often "freezes", it doesn't quickly charge by a Motorola quick charger, sometimes it gets pretty warm. I couldn't find a video player to work decently on on-the-cloud video playing. VLC media player works great on Moto G 54. It took some manoeuvres to make it use the SIM card, it couldn't connect to the celular network, so I didn't want to lose my time trying to use the telephone. I will return the device to the seller, in perfect condition, a. s. a. p.

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2025Is your device a 8 gig ram variant of the G35? Do you use e... moreI have the 8gb with the T760 and I I'm using a physical sim card.
I believe it was google in their infinite wisdom that removed the network selection option in their stock android, but a lot of manufacturers re-enable it, but Motorola seems to have given this g35 a very stripped down version of android compared to their other phones.
I'm also still stuck on android 14 with the January security patch.
I won't lie, the signal on this Motorola is not the best, I tried my sim in some other phones and they work better than on the g35, it's not the worst I've had , but sometimes it's just sit there compiling for no reason and I have to turn data off and back on again to stop it.
I've got my fingers crossed for android 15, but who knows when I'll receive it (apparently the g34 has it already).

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2025I actually don't use it on wifi , but I get around 5hr... moreIs your device a 8 gig ram variant of the G35? Do you use eSIM only??
Some 8 gig ram G35 variants use a different version of the T760 processor. If you look in device details, you might see under CPU: "UNISOC UMS9620". Apparently, it is a prototype version of the T760. This may explain why you can only use 5G for mobile signal. And if you have bad 5G signal, being stuck with 5G will drain your battery quickly.
Is it possible for you to try with traditional SIM card for mobile data?

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2025How many hours do you get while the screen is on (sot), on wifi?I actually don't use it on wifi , but I get around 5hr sot mainly browsing internet (sim) and a little light gaming.
It's the only phone I've had recently that I find myself topping it up mid-day, but my signal strength is a bit spotty (well on this phone at least) which could be affecting the battery life and the phone has no menu to switch from 5g to 4g unless you use *#*#4636#*#* , but I found that method unreliable as the Internet kept hanging.

Teeheee, 23 Apr 2025Hi, I would like to know what tips any of you can give to i... moreYou might want to uninstall or at least disable all the bloat applications that constantly download unwanted games and apps like 'game', 'my games', 'app center, 'app cloud' etc. Make sure to also disable the "Live Lock Screen" feature. That app is adware from Taboola and not part of Moto software.
Finally, remove background data access to all apps except for whatever social media, banking and Google apps you use.
Hope this helps!

MarianoDArgentina, 20 Apr 20254GB4gb is just not enough in 2025 to run the android system smoothly , despite claims by Google that it can run on 2gb of ram (I'd like to see that ) ,running and running properly are two different things .
Manufactures should know from experience that it's not enough .
It's not fair to dupe people into buying a unusable phone .
